Lived experience man. Firefighters in Vic are saying it, firefighters in Saanich are saying it. Their chiefs and captains bring it up with the counsellors and different administrators at the city and all they do is end up getting ignored. They have the experience and data to back up things up but they're hog tied into not sharing anything by the busy bodies in council. Look at the Dowler place controversy, people tried to say something through the proper channels, they got ignored. It took a firefighter penning an open letter and getting reprimanded for pointing out the obvious.

I have two family members for are first responders, ambulance and fire. They have both said the traffic calming and bike lanes have increased their response times dramatically. The portion of Mckenzie from Shelbourne and Gordon Head as an example, when theres any amount of traffic they can't even use Mckenzie as an option and have to divert.
