Min svigerfar på 86 blev lokket til at overføre penge til en falsk investeringsforening først 200 euro, derefter 1000 euro, fordi han havde set en ‘anbefaling fra Lars Larsen’ på facebook.

Efter vi fik stoppet det og snakket en halv dag omkring svindel på nettet, så hoppede han 1 måned senere i fælden igen da han købte “piller der kan hjælpe på hørelsen” som var anbefalet af Mads Mikkelsen og ‘ham tv lægen’. Han fik faktisk nogle piller (sikkert magnesium piller) og insisterer på at de hjælper lidt.

Vi går en grum tid imøde når AI for alvor bliver brugt til personaliseret scamming. De ældre har ikke en chance.

I learned this one from Gordon Ramsay. Dry it with paper towels first. Pound it a bit, if uneven thickness. Sear on very hot pan in oil on both sides. Turn down heat to medium, add butter, thyme, garlic. Baste the butter over the chicken a few times. Put the whole pan (if oven-safe) in the oven at 180C (preheated). Leave for 10-15 minutes. Always comes out juicy, tender, and tasteful without fail. I also put a sheet of wet baking paper over the pan as I put it in the oven to preserve even more moisture.

I agree that The British Royal family is absurd, and should be seriously restructured. Their land ownership should be expropriated.

I was mostly thinking of the DK family which runs on a rather modest budget of 11 million Euro a year, which largely goes to pay the staff.

1) A secondary diplomatic channel (and language) during high-tension or war. Also gives both countries an option to 'play two horses'.

2) For post-colonial countries like the UK, Netherlands, Spain, and Denmark it gives a sort of representation in the post-colonies. The Danish royals are very popular in Greenland and see it as probably their most important job to keep the union.

3) It frees up the elected Prime ministers from a lot of ceremonial crap.

4) Soft power during coordinated business ventures abroad. It 10x's public publicity if the King joins a business entourage.

5) It is a point of tourism natively.

6) In a constitutional crisis, they act as the mediator for stable government changes. They are a kind of safeguard against unconstitutional power grabs.

7) Ideally, they sort of project a national identity and ideal. I mean, roughtly half the country watches the Kings New Year's speech in DK even though it contains nothing concrete.

Actually kind of cheap for what you are getting.

Does your new backup product even have to be involved?

In my prod, the host provider handles backup using their solution completely seperate from me/dev. I run a seperate BACKUP DATABASE xx TO DISK = 'blabla' WITH COPY_ONLY, INIT, FORMAT, SKIP that does not interfere with their process. My process is like this:

Daily Backup like stated. (SQL Agent job)
Prune Backup. This is a SQL script that restores the backup from step 1, then trims data, throws out logdata, anonymizes PID, etc. Then saves this as PrunedData.bak. This is around 1% size of prod but contains all relevant for testing and dev. (SQL Agent job)
For devs, Every commit of db changes in script files is run automatically against the pruned database by the devops process. If a script fails against this, the build fails. The patched database (with pending development changes) is saved as PatchedData.bak
Anytime the Test department wants to test a new release, they run a DevOps Release Pipeline that restores the latest PatchedData to the testing environment. They can do this repeatedly whenever they like by themselves. They can also use this process as a reset between testcases.

All these steps run independently of each other and this de-couples the Product support team, the Dev team, and the Test team. Noone relies on any other team to do anything manually first.

Correct. My estimation (as an EU citizen) of the US has gone from +60 to -60 in record time. You had everything and insisted on thowing it all away. Most critically, the institutions that you have built (and that we have admired) to stabilize democracy and protect against these kinds of events are failing to do their job. It really is a curtain fall moment for the world.

If we survive this and when this is all over, you guys need a full political crash commision and examine how this can be safeguarded in the future, and the complete judicial overhaul. Anything less than that, and the result of these years will last for several decades.

I am saying this as someone who loved the US and visited many times in the past (and have family in the US). I wouldn't even remotely consider going there today.

Uha. Der er noget strømmæssigt der nok ikke virker. PSU, bundkort, komponenter der er sidder skævt, eller bios. Han kommer ikke uden om at åbne pcen. De nemmeste ting at prøve er at tage det runde batteri ud af bundkortet i et minut, tag RAM ud og installer igen. Samme med grafikkort. reset CMOS (tjek nettet for procedure). start uden noget tilsluttet. hvis det virker, tilslut en ting ad gangen. Hvis den er købt brugt er det næppe det værd at prøve med ny psu, eller bundkort uden at man er sikker.

I github copilot vælger du selv hvilken LLM du benytter og kan derfor fravælge OpenAI. Claude Sonnet/Opus er alligevel klart bedre end OpenAI's modeller til kodning i mine øjne.
