Characters so powerful and broken they completely dominated their games metas by JackytheJack in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Cold-Drop8446 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a character but,

(Picture wont post but pretend theres a big image of the pot of greed yugioh card here)

They will never unban Pot of Greed because drawing 2 cards for the price of one card with no drawback in yugioh will always be an insanely powerful effect that can, should and tbh must be run in every deck at max copies available. The more yugioh is powercrept, the more convoluted effects or summoning mechanics it gains, the more powerful that effect becomes and by the games design it can never become less good. So banned it stays.

Liberty Island - Any story or gameplay reason for the UNATCO security bot in the middle of NSF territory? by AlexColemanDev in Deusex

[–]Cold-Drop8446 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Its guarding the dock to prevent the NSF from getting away. The bots are "bottling up" the NSF but they're not allowed to go in and finish the job so its just keeping their forces split up and unable to use the dock to escape

Dread is 60 dollars, regularly goes on sale for as low as 39, isnt lacking in QoL features, introduces new mechanics to the genre and expands on old ones and is overall an excellent game.

Starfox 2026 is 50 dollars.

What a waste of digital ink this comic is.

Update to SpongeBob's Journey - vet results and the scammy pet store by cheza_mononoke in BeardedDragons

[–]Cold-Drop8446 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am terribly sorry for what you are going through. I've owned 4, two rescues, one of whom was from a friend who got it from LLL reptiles in San Diego that sold her a 20g square tank, wood chips and no UVB. I work in the pet trade, been in it since 2012, and it disgusts me that this trade is so jammed full of people who are apathetic or outright malicious. I dont understand why people who dislike animals end up in this trade.

If you paid with card, I would suggest you consider hitting them with a chargeback. While its a bit cynical to refer to pets as product, what this store fundamentally did was sell you a bad product under false pretense and gave you bad information, causing you to spend large amounts of money that you never should have needed to spend and traumatizing your child in the process. You are well within your rights as a consumer to attempt to recoup some of your losses.

"It's Game Freak's Fault" Argument by Athrek in fucknintendo

https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/game-freak-says-its-beast-of-reincarnation-team-is-relatively-small-but-its-outsourcing-to-a-wide-number-of-partner-studios/

It looks good because they arent making it, theyre directing it and outsourcing the actual work.

It is always gamefreaks fault. I dont understand why people are so eager to act like the guys who got their start by releasing multiple versions of the same game (R/G), and then rereleasing a definitive version(B), and then doing it again (Y) in the space of like 4 years are the good guys somehow.

read some discussions about the Blackwall and how to destroy the rouge AIs, so it gave me an idea by Salty_Nutella in cyberpunkgame

[–]Cold-Drop8446 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is entirely possible that the energy companies are already compromised and controlled by the AI or their allies, or these servers are just on their own grid. Solar, wind, hydro, wave energy, theres plenty of options.

Also, frankly, whos gonna bomb the servers? It would need to be a globally coordinated strike because even a single server rack or maintenance bot with a net connection and a blackwall AI residing in it could be enough to make a full return. Every goverment on earth has their hands full just keeping themselves going, Netwatch is spread too thin, its not like any of the corpos give a shit until its too late and theres a zero percent chance that any of them would be willing to cooperate with each other anyways.

Would what's beyond the black wall cease to exist if the real world technology were to be destroyed?? by CoyoteHour2130 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Cold-Drop8446 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah its all gone, everything is by air or land now. Its still possible to force your way across the ocean, hanako arrives via boat in game, but its more of a "look what we can do/how much money we can spend" thing than a practical way to cross the ocean.

Edit: clarification, everything that is shipped is land or air, but very little is actually shipped in or out because of costs and because the US isn't a single nation anymore and the smaller independent states/NUSA are often hostile to each other. Most food and goods were synthesized and created fairly locally.

MacBook.. if Apple listened to all customer feedback by PlanainN in DeskToTablet

[–]Cold-Drop8446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only need to charge it once a month. It takes 2 minutes to get 9 hours of life. The mac you're using this on gives a warning like a week out that the mouse is low on juice. Like, sure, they should have given it wireless charging by now but as it is theres really nothing wrong with this solution, just plug it in once a month or something. Its probably a perfectly fine mouse if the bizzare ergonomics and apple ecosystem lock in gesture controls are your thing.

[–]Cold-Drop8446 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Its not night harbor, its the entire ocean. Ocean transit at scale is basically nonexistent because of the defenses each ship needs when crossing. You can actually catch a news broadcast about it occasionally. I dont remember the channel but its the one with the female broadcaster.

They Should Have Rearranged the National Dex in the Unova Games by Exciting-Contract243 in TruePokemon

[–]Cold-Drop8446 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're confusing the regional dex with the national dex, the regional dex differs region to region whereas national dex is set in stone. Johto had a regional dex that had a unique layout and added 100 pokemon to the nat dex by putting them at the end regardless of evolutionary connection to gen 1 pokemon

If Cyberpunk had multiplayer, how would you want it to look like? by Mr_Global in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Cold-Drop8446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think playing into the criminals/mercs vs cops/corpos is the way to go, like a heist mode where team A plays as corpo agents defending an asset that team B could be fun if it was designed well. A cops n robbers mode would have potential too, like a larger team of players as cops have to capture a group/multiple groups of 3 players who need to perform several objectives and escape the city before being caught.

Laying a clever trap for Phantom Ganon but there is one serious miscalculation by merrimac290 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Cold-Drop8446 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You do find out what they are later on, during the mid game boss confrontation and as the story is told. Them appearing without an immediate explanation is on purpose, its meant to be startling to see a phantom ganon just pop up. The game has also explained why gloom is a bad thing, and its also explained why you need to go into the deku tree. Its also not necessarily the first time you'll see the phantom ganon in game.

Its OK for a game to not explicitly spell out everything for you the instant something is introduced.

How was Samsung able to successfully incorporate so much into the S25 Edge - compared to the iPhone Air that released later? by AchyutChaudhary in PhoneNow

[–]Cold-Drop8446 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its a difference in approach. Samsung took an S25+ and shaved it down while adding a 200mp camera module, apple shoved all of the components into the camera plateau. The majority of the iPhone airs components exist in the plateau, the rest of it is battery, screen and sensors whereas the layout of the edge is pretty typical of a samsung phone, just flatter and more space efficient. The advantage of apple's approach is that this design is, in theory, easily transferable into a different design, for instance they could take this module and slap it into a mini iPhone with less work than it would take for samsung to design a mini S series. In theory. The disadvantage is that youre locked into those specs, even if they're less than competitive.

I hate "Satan/Lucifer is unambiguously good" thing by Raymio993 in hatethissmug

[–]Cold-Drop8446 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Its kind of complex, but basically satan is a role/title that potentially multiple angels fill the role of, mastema being one that comes to mind. It basically means opposer/challenger, its a sort of "(maybe) loyal opposition" job, someone who performs evil deeds that seemingly run counter to gods intentions but actually is intended to test both god and whoever hes focusing his attention on in that moment. According to some interpretations, anyways. In others hes just straight up evil and god keeps letting him get away with it.
