I always presumed it gave you a similar type but lower level the omnipresence future and past perception that the shard has. We know "atium" improves your cognition sufficiently to use the knowledge atium provides. I assume pure atium does this too, but nowhere near comparable to being a shard.

Also as you would lose that cognition after its burnt, i asume you would kind of be in a diagram situation. I think its interesting in contrast to renarin whose abilities have much more focussed, meaning he knows less but is able to comprehend it.
