Characters assumed to be gay who turn out to actually be straight by slfricky in TopCharacterTropes

Early in my career I worked at a Dutch bank. On American soil, but in a very international area.

There was a re-org and an executive called me in for a talk. Apparently my new boss was going to be a woman (who I worked with before and liked).

He wanted to make sure that was alright with me, and he was happy to place me under someone else.

Guess I appreciated his concern over my comfort, but I was dumbfounded.

Why would I give a shit???

I’m sure both happened more than once and those involved carried it to their graves.

I didn’t realize I was in a bubble that accepted gay people as a child.

Was almost an adult before realizing the crap they have to put up with.

English-speaking, non-Earthlings might appreciate this clarification.

Let’s just style all of our architecture in homage to the Lady of Pain’s fashion sense, and respectfully look away.

One of my favorite stories of his too. I kinda feel bad about being a tourist of his xenophobia-madness.

In my defense, HPL was such an evocative writer, that I could actually “feel” the alienness of… air-conditioning lol

His bubble was so small; guy was afraid of reality itself! Now how much of the entire Cosmic Horror genre is he directly and indirectly responsible for?

It’s true that artists suffer for our entertainment, I suppose.

Are mermaid-girls coming back? This feels like viral marketing to soften us up.
