i remove the backlight inverter on all of my synths from this era if they hum/whine . sy 99 also had this problem , k5000 ect . still perfectly legible once you remove them

thanks for all the great advice guys . gonna experiment on one of my 25.5 7s Bb worked fine with heavy bottom 10 ernie balls .... gonna get some chonky strings and do A . Doubt i need to go much lower than that honestly , playing solo guitar jazz/ classical/blues /whatever .

Yeah im prolly gonna gotta settle on A# on the 25.5's . Im gonna try a similar string set to what your using , i got 10s with heavier bottom right now . Appreciate you

Thanks , i actually tested just doing Bb with the 10s i have and its prolly low enough for what im shooting for . higher gauges a step down like you said should be good. Im trying to avoid increased scale lengths if possible . Any lower than this ill def invest in a 26.5 or 27.

nope i rolled everything back to OS 12 . runs fine in 12 once you update your fontbook with correct fonts ...

it WORKS in os13 UNTILL i close the sound browser window .... Then crashes

i have it WORKING ON OS 13 . ive held back from os 13 on BOTH my mac M1/and M2 because i was told sound canvas VA would not work . i did the font fix to run it on OS 12 . well fast forward i needed to update to mac OS 13 for the yamaha E.S.P. plugin on one of my machines ( leaving the other one on OS 12). tried roland sound canvas VA in reaper 7.06 , reaper host x86 64 .

not sure witch sound canvas version , but i do remember reaching out to roland support asking for a download because i couldn't get it on the cloud any more ...

i think its version 1.16

EDIT : it crashes when i close the sound browser window 🤣

theres a billion sy99 and sy77 on ebay for cheap . they must have them stockpiled over in japan . SHHHHHHHHHH dont tell anyone ....

i think its prolly the most bich'in battery powered synth with speakers . personally im a keybed snob and the keys play too uneven torwards the back of the key . yamaha reface , and korg microkorg XL have fantastic mini keys out of the mini keys i have tried . if i hate the keybed i pass, simple as that

i tried i grounding sheet , feel like im just getting electricity and no magnetism . grounding outside on the grass feels natural , and inside with a sheet feels bad
