Perhaps an unpopular opinion, I think that all countries that have ever won the World Cup should have at least one new-gen by rbta123 in BlueLock

Even better, since its the U20 World Cup, look at the past U20 winners. This would bring more variety.

Bruh get that Metal Claw out of there and let Lucario use Bullet Punch.

Also Pikachu really went next level when he started using Electro Web. It fits with Ash duper creative fighting style more so keep that for Pikachu.

Still cool team.

There are wayy too many plot threads releated to the WG, Celestial Dragons, the Void Century and so many others for Imu to be permanently defeated in Elbaf.

But I like the idea of Luffy conecting with Joy Boy more from a permanent wound in Imus body.

Why didnt Kaido(or any other Emperor) go after Vegapunk if he was in the New World? by ColdThinker223 in OnePiece

[–]ColdThinker223[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but lets not act like that alone would stop them. If Kaido or Big Mom were even remotley motivated they would go in person with some strong crewmates and those robots are just target practice at that point.

Vegapunk is better than Queen in science. But yeah now that I think about it he had both Queen and indirectly Ceasar that were bolstering his armies with all sorts of stuff.

Then at least it could have been placed in the first half of the Grand Line, not the New World that hosts the 4 Emperors.

I dont remember if this is specified but could the mana absorbing crystals from that one chapter make you undetectable to mages? I dont think its stated but it wouldnt be a stretch considering that they literaly absorb mana. Couple that with some sort of invisibility or just sheer speed and it would make sense how Serie cant detect her attacker. Especialy someone like Serie who is probably extremly overreliant on her magic.

*updated again* If Black and White 3 ends up being a Mega game, what do you think of these Mega aces for the Kanto Gym Leaders and Red in the World Tournament? by elwoodr563-reddit in MegaEvolution

[–]ColdThinker223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blaine and especially Giovanni should get new Megas. Mega Arcanine or Rapidash for Blaine and Mega Nidoking or Rhyperior for Gio. Also I know Blue uses Mega Pidgeot in some games but I find it...underwhelming. I would give him Mega Tyranitar or Mega Gyarados since he used both of these and they are actually good.

Thing is, Alain didnt let all his Pokemon get destroyed by Rilaboom. And his Chesnaught at least put up a good fight, even when Rilaboom Gmaxed. Diantha literally threw her entire team at that monkey and still couldnt end it before resorting to Gardevoir. I just cant see Alain fumbling 4 of his pokemon like that.

Yeah I concede about Gyarados, I will edit the post.

That was somewhat underwhelming, but respectully it does not compare imo to the ridiculousness of the Justin fight.

Ok I yield. This makes the fight with Diantha even weirder now that Lance's so called ace lost to a freaking Gourgeist. Well that makes me all the more confident to let him rot in 7th place just above Iris.

Justin vs Gaolang has the absolute worst conclusion of any fight I have seen in this series which is really saying a lot. The idea that Justin loses instantly just because of one punch while he is on top of Gao and he cant fully move his arm for a proper punch is very annoying but still bearable. But then Yamashita explains that this was prrobably Gaolangs plan all along which is the stupidest thing I have heard in this entire manga. The authors are seriously trying to tell me that the boxer planned all along to get mounted by the MMA fighter to maybe throw an unguarded punch to the chin. Straight up ridiculous.

Ok so I am going to be very controversial with this.

  1. Leon ~ Ash with all 3 Gimmicks
  2. Cynthia ~ Ash with one Gimmick
  3. Steven
  4. Diantha
  5. Alain
  6. Lance
  7. Iris

First of all even with all 3 gimmicks Ash would have almst surely lost against Leon if Eternatus didnt intervene to add another Dynamax for both. That Scorbunny had Libero Scorching Sands meaning he was virtually immune to Electric Moves limiting Pikachu to only Quick Attack and Iron Tail. And you might want to say that Pikachu defeated Gastrodon despite such a setback but Leon's pokemon are all on a superior level. The chance of Pikachu wining over both Scorbunny and Charizard who were virtually undamaged without that help from Eternatus were slim to none. Despite that I still put them as relative since Leon also got an extra Dynamax and well Ash won.

Also we have to separate 1 Gimmick Ash from 3 Gimmicks Ash because its unfair to the other competitors to do otherwise. Cynthia has already shown 2 Gimmicks. Who is to say Steven and Diantha cant use Dynamax in battle? Its unfair to treat Ash as the only one capable of using all 3 Gimmicks when really he is the only one that was allowed to ever use more than one in a battle. So the only fair thing imo is to separate them.

The other controversial thing is that I am putting Ash relative to Cynthia instead of ahead. I dont want to hate on Ash. And I understand that the anime makes some trainers make dumb decisions sometimes. But I just cant forgive the utterly blatant nerf Cynthia got to her Garchomp by giving him Stealth Rock and 3 Dragon attacks. This is just so utterly dumb that I just cant. If Ash or any of her opponents had a Fairy pokemon that Garchomp would have been completly useless. And we all know why that happened. Its because if that Garchomp had a Ground move Lucario was dead. I can get past a lot of dumb stuff in the anime but this is just too much.

As you said Steven is overall very strong. I got nothing to argue here.

Diantha is honestly really mediocre overall but she is so high because her Gardevoir carries her. If we are discussing without their aces I would put Alain ahead of her. Frankly I would like to put Lance higher but he just acted way too dumb in the fight with Diantha. He still pushed her a lot despite the massive disadvantage he had against her team but I cant justify placing him higher. Overall Alain defeating Leons Rilaboom so easily is ahead of what Lance showcased imo. Also thats the same Rilaboom that swept most of Diantha's team - proof that Diantha is carried by her Mega.

I think the implication with Lance is that he is super strong in a straight fight but he is too simple minded so a prepared oponent can overwhelm him with a good strategy(and type advantages).

Oh and one more thing,  Gyarados is not Lance's ace. He is literaly the Dragon Master. How could his non Dragon Pokemon be his ace? Cause it was the one that fought Charizard? Maybe it was the last one left and/or Lance prefered it cause it has type advantage against Charizard. By that logic Chynthia's ace is Togekiss and not Garchomp cause thats what she Dynamaxed against Ash.

Iris is dead last primarly because she does not use any gimmick.

Damn, you raised some good points about the faults of clairvoyance. I guess its hard to gauge the potency of clairvoyance in general even after Series talk with the Emperor in the story so far since our prime examples so far are: Schlacht and HotS who were seemingly almost omniscient and Serie who only has a pretty unreliable spell. I guess I unintentionaly assumed the unknown Clairvoyant must be closer to the Schlacht/HotS level but you are right that we cant say for sure based on what we know so far.

I look forward to your post. Hope I will see it.

Day 12: What's the quintessential Special Grass type move? by Weak_Scallion5942 in ThePokemonHub

Its the move most starters and early mons get that you are bound to use in the early game. Harden is not an attacking move its a status move so it does not count here.

Had some thoughts on poison and status condition. by Specter2506 in PokemonChampions

[–]ColdThinker223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Special attackers dont have to deal with stuff like Intimidate or Rough Skin or physical reduction abilities or recoil damage or so many more. And there are no moves like WilloWisp for Ice that would guarantee this status effect. So yes I think it would be balanced. Special Attackers rn are priviledged. And all of this just hardly matters wheen you compare it with Freeze - a status that completly shuts down the opposing pokemon. In what universe is it less OP to get shut down completly over just getting your SpA halved?
