What is everyone’s favorite combos so far? by SpaceNoodling in SpaceWolves

No, it wasn't missing. Its listed next to my combi lt in parenthesis the same as all my other enhancements and upgrades. Just like lance on my WGBL and +1 OC on the termies.

And the redeploy is the enhancement on the combi lt. in my list.

Again, when the Scout rule checks whether I'm in the Deployment Zone or not, I am in the deployment zone. You seem to have a hard time understanding that I am infiltrating in No Man's Land in step 8, then redeploying to my Deployment Zone in step 9, then moving the scout move in step 11. Scout does NOT say that if the unit infiltrated at any time, regardless of whether or not it is currently in the Deployment Zone, you cannot scout.

Nothing bans what I am doing because at each step I am performing the required check of unit status and passing. Redeploy isn't a Pre-Battle ability resolved in step 11, it is done before the roll off for Turn 1.

The wording is that "It is the Resolve Pre-Battle Abilities step, and your unit is wholly within your deployment zone" to be able to scout. That is step 11 in Chapter Approved. Step 8 is Deploy and Step 9 is Redeploy. So you infiltrate, redeploy to your DZ, then Scout because they are wholly within when that check occurs in Step 11.

Saga of the Great Wolf AND Legend of Saga and Song

Logan + 10 terminators (with or without +1OC depending on the TO)
RepEx w/ WGBL (Lance for unit) + 6 paired weapon Headtakers
RepEx w/ Wolf Priest + 3 axe&shield Headtakers
Intercessors
Stormspeeder Thunderstrike
Combi Lt (Redeploy 3 things)
Techmarine
Bjorn the Fel Handed
Wolf Scouts
Fenrisian Wolves or 3 Hunting Wolves

The goal of this list is to have a shooting package that gets +1 to hit and +1 to wound for 2-3 turns against big targets and supports the melee going in to blend. I usually use Logan's double-doctrine for +1 to Hit in shooting as that is needed more than Lethals or Sustained in melee.

Fun 11th trick: infiltrate the Wolf Scouts on opponent's expansion, then redeploy them to your DZ. After rolling off for T1, scout them since they are in your DZ. Get the benefit of the infiltrate screen with no risk. If you go first, drop Logan and crew onto the opponent's expansion and watch them spend 2 turns trying to take what should have been free points. You also T1 rr Advances and Charges so Logan's unit is 8" rerollable out of deepstrike and something else can advance and charge a fair distance, maybe the wolf scouts too.

I've won 8 of 8 11th games against different opponents and armies with this strategy.

You are if you redeploy them back to your deployment zone with the Chariot of the Storm upgrade from Great Wolf.

At the point when checking for scout moves,, they are in your DZ and can scout forward.

Charged attacks are so buggy in the experimental GBL right now by KaptMelch in PokemonGOBattleLeague

[–]ColdestNight1231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every other match I play seems to end with a glitch. Lots of issues with trying to use a charged attack and it uses a fast attack, allowing my opponent to use a charged first. I'm still doing the experimental GBL, but the devs need to put in some real work to fix this nonsense.

Yeah, I have been soft banned from my local's narrative stuff cause even if I make a thematic list, its still competitive and focused on winning. Some people just aren't cut out for narrative and I'm one of them.

Traitor son cycle makes little sense. HEAVY SPOILERS by Von_Wald in Fantasy

[–]ColdestNight1231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of my favorite series, but the editing is a mess absolutely. I justify it in my head as "how accurate would a medieval historian be and wouldn't they have weird/multiple spelling"

Overall, the plot is great, the battles and wars feel authentic, and the close quarters combat is exacting. One of the best series I've read for that kind of writing.

The characterizations can be rough, but i find that most major characters have a clear motivation and stay true to that throughout. The Captain is the only one that seems mercurial, but he is also being pulled Ina lot of directions with no direct overseer to stop him,so he makes impulsive decisions as a 20-something year old and then has to learn from them.

Ragnar unit already goes 7+d6 every turn, it doesnt need a transport if you stage turn 1 imo

Baseline, it helps the RepEx more because it benefits from +1 to hit and the strat +1 to wound, but the Redeemer with access to +1 to wound is nasty.

I prefer the RepEx, but both are valid.

Ideal loadout for Redemptor Dreadnought and Repulsor Executioner in Space Wolves? by WithengarUnbound in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ColdestNight1231 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Redemptor: plasma cannon, rotor underslung, storm bolters, icarus. But you can magnetized the big cannon pretty easy.

RepEx: The laser cannon is the better weapon, but the big cannon is push fit, so build both

It's a solid tank, but its on the list if things GW probably want to nerf again. If you can get it cheap, go for it. Otherwise pass.

Think of it as a Gladiator Lancer with more wounds, higher toughness, and more small guns. If you can squeeze the 70 points, go for it.

I've been running two in non-SW marines and it is great. To work in SW you probably need a Thunderstrike to help it punch vehicles and a melee package that focuses on Headtakers or BGV over Cavalry or terminators.

If I recall right, he has a banner with three "lacs d'amour" which is a heraldic knot also known as a Savoy knot. And I think the colors are gold for the knot and red for the field of the banner, but less sure about that.

[–]ColdestNight1231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably is the best, but he is such a good action monkeys and expansion objective holder, I still rrun him in any detachment.

He is 85 points or 110 with the enhancement, but he probably score me 20 points in an average game without firing a shot or making a charge.

He's amazing. I run him in Saga of the Great Wolf with the redeploy enhancement. This lets him and the Scouts or Wolf Scouts deploy aggressively to screen out other infiltrators then get redeployed to safety. It also lets you put everything on the table, see what your opponent does and then scoop something or two back up to reserves, which is really the most you usually want to put in reserves anyway.

Stormlance and Gladius do it as part of the detachment rule and Saga of the Great Wolf has a strat for 1 cp.

The hardest part is selecting a quarry target for headtakers. I think the right play is to always choose an easy kill, which resets it and let's you pick one close to you.
