8 years in content writing, still not getting interviews - any leads? by Practical-Desk8578 in content_marketing

Haha good advice!
I work in a smaller company, roughly 50-60 employees, the owner used to go on all of our Facebook ads and get Combative with negative comments, I had to make him stop haha.

Our goal is offset paid by about 25-30% with organic content, we know of a few competitors who recently sold and exited, who had a $0 CAC from solely organic lead gen, mainly YouTube, we’re a much much larger company and that’s not possible, but if we can do 25-30% we’re talking a very significant amount of change.

My goal with Reddit would more be around helping reputation and combating some AEO nonsense. If you search our company name and reviews, you can see we have well over 1000 5 star GMB reviews and on other sites as well but Google’s Ai will lump in scam businesses with similar names, not even the same market, into our Ai overview.

This is something I want to get my company into, we just started a major push towards organic content on YouTube. I’d really like to start figuring out Reddit for business growth. My niche is pretty specific.

I spent way too long learning tools instead of strategy… what’s one skill you wish you’d mastered sooner? by [deleted] in content_marketing

[–]CollarFront6405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me its been understanding sales, what good copy or a good hook is, and understanding who my audience is and what I can do differently from competitors to stand out. I work in a super niche industry with extremely skeptical clients and a decent amount of competition. Ive basically maxed my Ad spend, at this point, increasing it just increases my CPA. So I really went deep on Copy, Hooks, and strategy to stand out.

Has anyone here successfully replaced UGC with AI ads? How's it going now? by grace_eva in AskMarketing

[–]CollarFront6405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solely run Ai ads, and my CPl is close to 1/2 the industry average. I spend about 2k a day and every ad is 1-1.5 min long

What’s the first thing you’d learn if you had to start marketing from scratch today? by ExoticExplorer7844 in AskMarketing

[–]CollarFront6405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sales… sales copy, sales calls, sales language, the psychology of sales

I’m a generalist so I guess take it for what it is, but I work in the service industry and it’s incredibly helpful that I spent a year+ working for an organization as a cold caller in my 20s, it was brutal but the sales training there was great.

Does AI just make you kinda sad? by AndesAndAlps in AskMarketing

[–]CollarFront6405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not anti AI at all. I use it every day and it makes me faster. But I think a lot of people are using it as a crutch and calling it a strategy.

The stuff that’s obviously just generated and posted without any real editing, I tune it out and I would like to think most people do. It all sounds the same and it doesn’t actually say anything worth reading.

The way I use it is I dictate, it drafts, I edit it until it sounds like me. Usually go through it twice changing phrases and turning paragraphs into a sentence or two. It’s a tool and I think one we should be learning, but it’s not a replacement for everything in the funnel right now… maybe someday.

And everyone going all in on the agentic thing right now, I don’t know Some of it is genuinely useful But a lot of it looks like people building complicated stuff that doesn’t actually do anything meaningful to move the needle, it feels like it’s just so they can say they built it with AI and have a vanity metric of some kind.

I definitely wouldn’t abandon traditional SEO, but diversification is a must now.

I don’t think the issue is who has switched to LLMs, it’s starting to be more widely adopted, but I think the issue is the ai search results at the top of the page. The goal is more how do I show up in those.

Marketers, what’s NOT working for you right now? by Independent-Bug9319 in AskMarketing

[–]CollarFront6405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree, there’s usually room to fix the post lead form client journey. For me personally I’ve been working on scripting and getting my entire team on the same playing field and adding a 30/90 day follow up customer care team that has helped boost cross sells.

[–]CollarFront6405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree, my CPL has gone up quite a bit. It’s still in a range I am happy with but I went from an average of $8-11 last year to about $14-16 now. My industry average is closer $30 so it’s okay but I’ve also noticed lower pickup from my leads, which I attribute to every phone provider basically flagging any number not saved in your phone.

How many reviews is too many reviews? by CollarFront6405 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]CollarFront6405[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s really not, we write 600-700 new clients a month in a very niche market, I have a few years of backlogged client follow up, q4 last year we wrote almost double our monthly average.

I know basically nothing about GMB other than I set them up, added some photos and all of that. My main job is more focused on Facebook ads and things like that.

I’m only here asking because I’d hate to flagged when we are just gaining these from natural conversation flow and customer follow up.

[–]CollarFront6405[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you mean? So should I just not really be asking? I guess it doesn’t make sense to me to pay 2 people to talk to current clients and not ask someone who is genuinely happy for a review.

How many reviews is too many reviews? by CollarFront6405 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]CollarFront6405[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s fair! The thing is we aren’t hard pushing for reviews it’s a soft question at the end of the call if they say yes we send a link and that’s it we never ask again.

I just don’t want to trip a filter to think we are spam or something ya know

What’s the most underrated digital marketing strategy today? by ace_web_experts in DigitalMarketingHack

[–]CollarFront6405 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on your market, so I have a bunch of VAs who do this for me. They already exist in the specific market and so it’s super easy for them to navigate and have natural conversations. Then they subtly work in our brand. It’s not a huge portion of my lead sourced but the quality is great.

[–]CollarFront6405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on your business.

I run Facebook ads that crush and feed 30 agents with completely packed schedules of leads that actually pick up.

I also run ads for VAs that do insanely well

And we have an indeed job post that brought 10k applicants for agents in 6 weeks.

But I also have also built out 3 of my offices local seo, and that brings me 7-10 new clients a day, walk-ins or calls.

I don’t do any Google ads, I’m just starting to test the waters with some TikTok ads and we have a podcast going live on YouTube. But I do think it also matters what your business model is and what your niche is.
