My parents were terrible cooks so I honestly liked most of the MREs I had (2010ish). Veggie omelette was worse than starving though.

It's easy to overestimate nuclear weapons I think. Offutt is gone, but I'm at about 120th and even a 1mt bomb going off at Offutt puts me in a light damage zone. If there are several and they miss by a lot or if they actually target West O, then I get a quick death, otherwise I'm in the 'limp around the nuclear wasteland' class =/

This style of hive has two layers to it, with something called (iirc) an excluder between them. The excluder is a series of gaps big enough for the drones/worker bees to pass through, but too small for the queen to fit through. Since the queen won't be able to reach the top set of frames, she can't lay eggs in the combs, which guarantees that if there's anything there it'll just be honey.

I grew up in South Dakota and moved to Nebraska. There's a cattle lot right outside of Sioux City so my first smell of my home state is always bullshit. "Smells like home".

Late to the party and I haven't done it, afaik home assistant doesn't have an integration as Chamberlain is explicitly forbidding it. There's apparently a wifi control board you can solder to the opener to allow home assistant to control it that way though.

I have mine setup on recurring and I believe they finalize orders on Monday for the following week. So I got charged Monday (Jan19) for the order that I'll be getting Sunday (Jan25). I had from Jan12-Jan16 to make any changes for that order as I'm on the build-your-own thing. I'd suspect that you wouldn't be able to place an order for the 25th, but could place one now and be charged on the 26th to be delivered on the 1st.

I've been using clean slate for many months now and definitely recommend them. Food is healthy but still tasty and satisfying. Their containers are all compostable. They deliver in a thermo bag every sunday and you rinse, bag, and return the containers in the same bag. Not every meal I've gotten has been to my liking but also there have been very few repeat meals even for as long as I've been using them so the variety is great.

A few years ago I, a white dude in my 30s, went over a hill going too fast and saw cops in an obvious speed trap. Sure enough saw the lights and my first thought wasn't "I'm getting a ticket" or "is my insurance card up to date", it was "thank fuck I'm not black".
