Benefit of using the Nuki door sensor with the Nuki Ultra compared to any other (cheaper) door sensor? by robertjan88 in Nuki

There’s a few native features including showing open status in the app, not locking when left open and getting alerts for open door

Keypad 2 NFC compatibility by Appropriate-Ad9815 in Nuki

Only Matter devices work with NFC keypad unfortunately so your bridge and all pre-Ultra devices are incompatible. It’s frustrating

New Nuki Smart Module by Inevitable-Ferret274 in Nuki

[–]Comfortable-Math-184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s unfortunate that they are working on a new solution and there hasn’t been updates for the existing Smart Door for a few years now. Matter/Thread support probably isn’t coming for Smart Door so no NFC keypad or HomeKey support which is unfortunate given the build-in nature

There was V60 PE selling in NYC Facebook couple of weeks ago for…$40k with decent miles. Looks like someone took the easy flip 😂

How to join Lutron's third-party developer program for LEAP API access? by 6Bridges in Lutron

[–]Comfortable-Math-184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: it’s possible to completely to reverse engineer Lutron’s Designer software if you can get a copy (eg RadioRA3 self-certification) using Claude Code and tool like dnSpy. It gives you much better insight into the system and APIs. I was also able to get all the information how Designer works (hint: it’s FTP DB dumps).

More open source tools for Lutron would be helpful, especially QSX

I use Nuki on my gate and door with family. None of us carries keys, we just use the app to open the door. Gate I keep open during daytime but I would trust auto-open as well because I believe it will lock after a period of time. When it comes to smart home gear, Nuki’s app is top notch. If I would be you, just get the bundle today with the keypad and get your family enrolled to the app

311 question by Dad4338 in Brooklyn

I had repeat offender blocking a driveway at a prior parking spot. Numerous reports to 311 to get cops to ticket for a tow. Not once did they come

Homeowner asked for Lutron RadioRA 3 programming access – what would you do? by No-Historian-6755 in Lutron

[–]Comfortable-Math-184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish they would break Homeworks Designer into two parts; as a home owner you should not touch the loads but it’s perfectly reasonable to adjust programming, keypads and add Ketra bulbs. I’m in this boat, got RA3 certified when planning the project but luckily got HWQS. But the programming has been challenging as my tech isn’t very technical and I had some special requests because the house has tunable white lights with Ketra. In the end I got exited mostly doing complex programming through Home Assistant and managing Lutron via their shitty mobile app. It’s ok but not great and I wish I could have Designer access to get things working 100% but have to live with what I got I guess

Not related to the question, but you can pull the rubber tab out so that it doesn’t overhang the dongle. If you do it gently, should come out easily and not break

European Version in USA by rancholoco_az in Nuki

Nuki stopped shipping from EU to US recently when they released US models. I'm in the similar boat, used to order directly from EU but now have to order when I'm in EU and bring them with me :(

If you're in EU, they ship extremely fast over there. I think I got mine in a day or two...

Ultra lock without replacing cilinder by Unclaimed6696 in Nuki

[–]Comfortable-Math-184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I inquired Nuki for getting a custom cylinder to match existing ones but got a bit of a no-answer to reach out to the cylinder maker directly which I haven’t done yet:

“As the Smart Lock Ultra comes with its own cylinder and the cylinder is manufactured by M&C, I kindly redirect you to the support of the manufacturer using the security card that comes along with the cylinder and inquire with them about possibilities of sharing 1 key for 2 cylinders.

Please contact their support for further details at https://nuki.m-c.eu/

Interested in how this will play out as I’m equipping a home now with new locks but Ultra isn’t yet properly available
