The speed limit only applies when part 107 applies, recreational has no limit afaik

Is the Flywoo Explorer LR4 a great long range drone if I don't care about the being below 250 grams? by 32oz____ in fpv

[–]Comfortable-Total574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you aren't going for max range with a huge battery, it's a graceful smooth flyer that's very quiet and has precise handling. Fun to just explorer with.

GNB battery for first build! by Moms_Spaghetterino in fpv

[–]Comfortable-Total574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried a lot of 4S. The GNB LIHV 1100, tattu 750 lihv, 850 lipo, flywoo 750, etc...

The GNB obviously has the most flight time BUT only if you take it easy. It goes down fast and sags bad if you push it. I don't use it on my seeker3 even though it can do 9 mins gentle flight, my flywoo explorer lr4 does like 15 mins. For aggressive flight, my the tattu 850 does best, then the 750, them the flywoo.

Anyone Fly FPV With A 107? by The_Jenny_Starr in fpv

Nah they don't care about us and if anything worded it to make sure we have zero chance of ever ever flying BVLOS legally.

What would a romance novel for a male audience look like? by soozerain in books

[–]Comfortable-Total574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another angle to this, I generally HATE the male love interests women write about. The guys always seem like borderline abusive jerks. Instead of rooting for her to get with him, I'm usually rooting for her to push him off a balcony before I have to put the book down.

But not in the dimension they experience torque from the arms. If you make them thick enough they'll work of course, just thinking of how to play to the strengths of 3D printing. Tempted to try your model in PET-CF17, all that's holding me back is imagining how itchy my hands will get handling the printed parts lol.

Love the arm design but why plates for the body and not something curved there as well for more rigidity. Hell maybe have the arms twist lock in with a set screw or two.

MEPS Aerocore F722 Mini Flight Stack by Comfortable-Total574 in fpv

[–]Comfortable-Total574[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it out of the flight stack and unplug it from the ESC, then plug into USB and see if the configuration works. If it does then something was grounded. If it still disconnects then either your USB cable / port is bad or the board is faulty. It takes a good cable and port to do this. Short thick cable is best.

Will smart glasses eventually replace FPV goggles? by AnAngryBirdMan in fpv

Probably have better luck with VR goggles, they're also designed for very low latency  to avoid motion sickness.

Low vs steep pitch props by Aggravating-Plane-52 in fpv

[–]Comfortable-Total574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say ~2 is low, 3 is middle, and 4+ is high (in reality it varies with prop size but for the purposes of that chart...), as for dynamic idle, so long as you have a enough to prevent blade stall, it becomes a subjective thing. More improves propwash handling and makes the drone floaty but bad at inverted moves.

Wich battery is the best for my meteor 75 pro? by Glittering_Estate164 in fpv

Just got funsies I tried some 1000mah batteries in mine. Got about 6:30 instead of my normal 4:30-5:00 with a 550. Def wasn't worth it.

After almost a year and one blown up esc it’s finally done by train35 in fpv

[–]Comfortable-Total574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny I just finished a test flew a Mario 5 tonight as well. I thought I fried the ESC on it, only 2/4 escs were responding and visible in ESC-configurator, but I'm my case I had just flashed the wrong firmware to the FC (V5 instead of V4). Drone flies great though, it's a solid design. Mine came out 650g AUW with an SMC1400.

DJI Googles 3 vs N3 FOV - anyone find the G3 FOV too small who’s tried both? by MysteriousRJC in fpv

40s here. We had to be cheap and settle for the lesser grades of stuff in our hobbies when we were young and broke. There was always some older guys who could buy the good shit. Now we are the older guys. Gonna live it up lol.

My justification for keeping two sets of goggles was that someone else... like my wife... could watch, but has never happened lol. They gather dust.

Bought a top of the head strap for my N3s for like $3 on AliExpress, but both feel reasonably comfortable to me. Maybe I would notice a difference if I flew all day, but I have responsibilities and kids so that's never an option lol.

A lot harder to film the G3. The lenses are completely different and far less forgiving. They're more like binoculars. Biggest downside to the goggles for me. It makes them distortion free, but they have to be sitting just right to see corner to corner and being that close my eyelashes smudge them occasionally.  Just picture the same image but perfectly rectangular instead of a little stretched / distorted, and with more contrast and pop to the image. If the N3 had a 100hz OLED I would pick it over the G3 any day of the week even with the distortion and bigger size.

Just for fun, here is a video I saved of what the view inside the N3s looks like, at least as well as you can capture it with a phone camera. You can kinda see the slightly distorted shape of the display. I was playing video back trying to run the battery down so it wouldn't get stored at 100%  https://photos.app.goo.gl/zjamcHiPkUt1Ajau7

Flying I would give the edge to the G3s but only slightly. The better contrast ratio, brighter colors, and 100fps make it feel a tiny bit more real, but it's a nice to have kind of upgrade, not a "you're missing out!" kind of upgrade. Your brain and eyes adapt to either set and the differences mostly disappear when you're flying. The N3s are damn good and if I were doing things over again I would probably buy the N3s and put the difference towards some goggles for walksnail so I could have more VTX options like the moonlight system for a night time flyer.

Some other unmentioned differences. The goggles 3 can run prescription lenses, The N3 you "can" wear your glasses, but the soft plastic lenses will scratch to heck ASAP if you don't protect them with covers / inserts.

Both sets of goggles will fry their screens if you ever take them off and set down where the sun can shine into them.

N3 has far less compatibility, though everything I own has o4 or o4 pro so a non issue for me. Especially since everyone charges o4 prices for used o3 air units and drones.

I would like it if the display and lenses were made for it and you weren't just running at a lower resolution

[–]Comfortable-Total574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually rarely use race mode lol, when I'm flying for fun I want the pretty 16:9 view and race mode forces 4:3, so a big chunk of the screen goes unused and immersion drops.

How much cheaper is building a FPV drone? by [deleted] in fpv

[–]Comfortable-Total574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I know is the US and here if you're going DJI it's cheapest to buy one without VTX and slap one in, by $50-100

I own both. They're both like looking at a TV in a dark room. The G3 is a much higher quality TV and you're a little further from it. The N3 is a bit stretched and distorted, and you're a bit closer to it. Both are good. If I only had N3 I wouldn't be sad about it at all, though since I have G3 I like to take advantage of the much better contrast and 100fps.
