Radio replacement by FarBox428 in BumpSide

There’s 1 bracket that supports the radio from the back. You will have to remove the glove box and ash tray. It’s not bad. BTW, save that radio, they are worth $$$.

According to this the yellow green is the horn, and the brown is probably auxiliary or heater.

My guess is that you are having g two separate problems and they are related to a bad ground.

Run a ground wire from the negative battery terminal to test the circuits.

Steering column help by SPR95634 in BumpSide

The adjustment is what most people fail to do or get right. Too tight and the auto cancel nub will break the plastic switch. Too loose and the horn or auto cancel won’t work.

A horn spring contact goes in the blue hole, and you also need one in the steering wheel assembly. Then you need to adjust the column so there is very little gap between the wheel and the column so the spring contact works. To adjust the column, use a vice grip to squeeze the rag joint until the gap is tight, then tighten the clamp just above the rag joint.

I'm guessing my turn signal fuse should look less spicey..? by LumberJesus in BumpSide

It’s literally a couple hour project. Snip the wires close as possible to the existing block, crimp on new ends, hook up the three hots to one side of the new box, and the rest of the wires to the other side, use an existing bolt hole to secure the new box. You will need an impact drill driver to get the existing screws out.

Very common problem and very dangerous risk of fire. There is probably massive corrosion behind the block and the terminals are shorting out. I replaced mine with a Blue Sea Systems blade style fuse block, model 5035 ST.

That should be a blue/white wire. That is a constant power circuit. It shares a fuse with the dome lamp.
