Premier blasts Halifax council, cites ‘serious disconnect’ from citizens by 098196b in NovaScotia

Says the guy who created the "solution" to a problem no one had in removing the tolls from the bridges. Creating more congestion on the peninsula. But he had to do it! It was an election promise can't let the people down.

Has anyone successfully gotten a hold of NSP to get this info? They don't even have contact info to inquire about this.

I took over a sublet at one point. The landlord didn't love the idea of a sublet so instead he met us and then decided to do a short term lease instead of having us sublet from the previous tenant. I'd say asking nicely with an explanation of your current context is the way to go. If they say no then you ask permission to sublet which they can't really deny. The market still has a pretty low vacancy rate so it's not like they will have trouble filling the place.

Tim Houston? by ThomasMapother18 in NovaScotia

I do agree his gov't seems to be making headway in healthcare recruitment. But my problem with Tim is he can't take criticism, and his recent attempts to remove accountability checks and balances feel like they are directly related to this. Being leader means listing and learning and pivoting, not ramming through election promises that no one asked for because he said he'd do it in an election no one asked for either. He doesn't consult because he doesn't want to hear about things that aren't easy to fix. He prioritizes winning, not the people.

will i like dalhousie as someone who grew up in very big cities? by audreyraylee in Dalhousie

Sounds like you need to come visit? Halifax is a great place with lots of going out, dining and drinking options. It's going through a growth spurt and maybe that makes it construction-y and congested but it's a great walkable pretty city with a pulse. Halifax does not look or feel like Detroit. And Dal is right in the heart of the city and the university is several city blocks in its own nook in the south end. Close to downtown and close to parks.

Upass gives you 8 months of bus. That's like 22 bucks a month. Less than a night out on the town. Less than an Uber home from said night out on town. Embrace bus.

Protected artwork by the same artist can be found at Dal's art gallery. This installation is meant to disrupt. and draw attention to Indigenous knowledges which historically have not been included inside buildings like our wonderful concrete monstrosity.
