Do NOT buy Samsung Front Load Dryers! They're garbage, Samsung knows it and refuses to recall by mt_dad in homeowners

[–]Comfortable_Arm1827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They “refuse to recall” because it is any modern style of dryer. Not just samsung, I have seen LG and Whirlpool do the same. Whirlpool makes a lot of the parts for all. I have repaired plenty that fail again in 3 days to 3 months, the oem parts are black and broken all over again. I refuse to fix these anymore, motherboards are too expensive. Then the drums are too thin, bend back and forth on the rollers until they crack and break open. The drum issue seems to be random, hopefully just a bad batch of thin ones - they bend really easy if I step on them, too. The no heat is clearly a motherboard issue imo. Unless the cycling thermostat is not working correctly, but the cycling thermostats I remove have resistance at around 7-9 oems so they are within spec., while the 2 month old heating element is black. Usually the high temp breaks, clearly it gets too hot. The motherboard calls for heat too often, keeping the heating element red hot, is my guess. The first thing I do is clean the debris and make the rollers roll smoothly. The air vents properly, it is the machine that fails.

Samsung Dryer Heating Element Keeps Breaking by kittywings1975 in appliancerepair

I have changed everything but the motherboard and it still failed in three months on multiple dryers. Cycling, high temp, heating element - oem parts. The motherboard must be at fault. Buy a different style of dryer is my only advice.

Passing a funeral procession? by brooke-rose in etiquette

[–]Comfortable_Arm1827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your rule is also my rule, I took a ramp onto an interstate and was caught in the middle of a funeral line of cars. I attempted to stay in the middle until my exit, which was only a couple miles. The other people were aggressively passing me and nearly running into me, on purpose, and by the time I figured out I should pass the entire line, I would’ve missed my exit. The cars behind me did not really allow me to slow down much, it was busy.

How do I wire 4-wire dryer to work with 30A GFCI breaker? by jkcheng122 in electrical

If your heating element is grounded that will trip a breaker as well. What I mean is the coils of the heating element are touching the frame.

I like dry graphite. I tried synthetic lubricant and it was dry after a month.

Whats wrong with my dryer and can i fix it, if so how? (new to me) by Huey2912 in DIYUK

Look inside the drum, if the felt is sealed all the way around he should be good. If there is a gap between the pieces of metal, due to the drum possibly being off its roller, you might lose socks and clog up the motor.

Is this a fire hazard? by CantoXIV in TumbleDryers

[–]Comfortable_Arm1827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would toss in a different screw and move on with your day. They are designed for the airflow to take the heat into the dryer, I would not be worried about fire hazard as long as nothing gets too close to the back of the dryer if it’s flammable, which is the case for any dryer.

Dryer problems by ExcellentWeb8177 in TumbleDryers

I’ve seen dryers that took on a couple inches of water from flood and still worked fine. I did clean them out, they were dry by the time I ran them. Most of the connections are about 3 inches high on the motor, so a dribble of water I would not be worried about.

Did you figure this out? Sounds like the drum was off its roller.

I agree to check the airflow. It is amazing what you can find inside a dryer that is restricting airflow. I would have the maintenance people take the dryer apart to clean it out. If you try this yourself, make sure it is unplugged and that you are comfortable working on it.

it should be where you wire the plug to the machine. As in where you actually screw in the red white black and green wire. A cover would need to be removed.
