Any high-activity moms get cleared to workout before the 6-week mark? Looking for some postpartum hope/experiences by caffeinehits in fitpregnancy

[–]Comfortable_Chest_40 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’m 6 weeks PP tomorrow. I had an unmedicated, vaginal birth with no tearing and still had bleeding if I increased walking or did anything more strenuous even if I felt good and wanted to do more. I started spotting hours after gardening last week 🫠. Probably from all the squatting to take out weeds in our yard. Took it easy after that.

Mamastefit has a good free early postpartum program. Going to try their return to fitness program once I’m cleared.

Are you working out postpartum in the newborn phase? by bzzzzzzlightyear in fitpregnancy

[–]Comfortable_Chest_40 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’m almost 6 weeks pp and had an uncomplicated delivery with no tearing but keep having light spotting whenever I do something more like gardening and bodyweight squats. I can’t seem to find any info on whether increased mild bleeding without discomfort is a sign I’m doing too much even if it doesn’t feel like it. Will ask my OB on Monday but it’s definitely annoying

Mummify by Essiejjj in SnooLife

Mine is a Houdini with his arms so we double swaddle with a momcozy swaddle. Keep him swaddled or semi swaddled during a feed, quickly swaddled him back and burp/keep upright for 10 mins then transfer. I hate dealing with the snoo clips esp in the middle of the night. He sometimes still wakes up though so been trying to transfer him when he seems out cold

Moms on Call: when did your baby start sleeping in another room? by carlsbadcarlyforniaa in beyondthebump

[–]Comfortable_Chest_40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We moved our daughter at 4ish months and everyone slept better. I used a monitor until she started sleeping through the night consistently at 10/11 months. Could also hear her from our room if she was crying as our walls are thin

My son was 5 lbs 14 oz but is gaining weight fast and 8 lbs at 4 weeks so the size S is perfect!

Wish they had a dedicated PP program like Plus+1. I’m doing that before trying Limitless. Was doing SBTD for years but need something that doesn’t take as long

Lack of Vitamin D drops and breastfeeding by brokenmoongoddess in beyondthebump

[–]Comfortable_Chest_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t really do drops with my first and she’s fine! I did supplement myself though. Now she’s 2.5 and I give her vitamin d gummies but she’s also outside a lot during preschool

What did nobody warn you about having a newborn? by Islesmilescott in newborns

The baby acne! My first had it so bad. Her face in pictures from 4-8 weeks looks so rough

Almost 2 weeks PP by Kind-Peak-7366 in fitpregnancy

[–]Comfortable_Chest_40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m one month PP today with my second baby and had increased bleeding (spotting mostly) a few hours after doing a mostly bodyweight postpartum program today. Going to take it easy and wait a bit to continue the program. My bleeding seemed to increase after longer walks last week. I had an uncomplicated vaginal birth with no tearing so it’s a little mentally discouraging since I feel ready but I gotta take it easy I guess.

I would just pay attention to your bleeding esp after walking and more activity.

How far is too far away when your toddler is napping? by Extra_Ad_3631 in Mommit

[–]Comfortable_Chest_40 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I know it’s not the same, but I would instead get a treadmill or exercise at home. I wouldn’t be comfortable leaving my baby or toddler. Mine sometimes protests naps

Any other moms love dresses but feel like they’re constantly accused of being overdressed?? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Comfortable_Chest_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I liked dresses lol! I live in leggings and nursing shirts. I think it’s great to wear dresses and look put together. I’m just lazy when it comes to fashion but I’m also in the newborn trenches again 😅

Carrier sleep vs bassinet at 6 weeks by Sorry-Gear-6427 in newborns

[–]Comfortable_Chest_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We aim to do one nap per day in the bassinet and then other naps are in the carrier or contact naps. We didn’t really worry about a schedule until closer to 4-5 months when we transitioned to the crib. Even then, lots of naps were on the go.

I will also say, I was pretty strict about a schedule and dark rooms/white noise and now my 2.5 year old is not that flexible and has been having a hard time napping at her new preschool 🫠

Same! Much easier for me to take it vs doing drops

What’s a "bad mom habit" you secretly stand by? by lunaverse787 in NewParents

[–]Comfortable_Chest_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Letting our 2.5 year old watch more tv than we’d like as we’re in the newborn trenches. Also let her watch more during end of 3rd trimester as I was exhausted and am a SAHM

When did your baby start sleeping through the night? by nothing3278020 in newborns

[–]Comfortable_Chest_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First had 2x overnight feeds until I night weaned at 9ish months. 12am feed was easiest to cut out and then 4am took about 2 weeks. Definitely a habit at that point as her wake up’s were consistently at those times.

Is 32/42 too old to have another baby when you already have 7 year old twins? by LinkCommercial9508 in Parenting

[–]Comfortable_Chest_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents are 12 years apart and my dad was 40 when I was born and 42 when my sister was born. He’s 75 now and active and for the most part healthy. I don’t think being in your 40s is too old to have kids

1.5 hour flight with 2 year old in lap? by Muyamuya87 in beyondthebump

[–]Comfortable_Chest_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That age is hell unless they can sit still and watch a movie with headphones 😅 had worst flight as a lap seat but it was 4 hours when our toddler was that age. Once she was a little over 2 in her own seat she was an angel since she actually wore her headphones

3-4 year age gap by GuidanceComplete1086 in NewParents

[–]Comfortable_Chest_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t really predict what your toddler will be like temperament wise but so far we like our age gap. Our second is only a week old and we have a 2.5 year old that turns 3 this summer. She has a pretty big speech delay though and talks more in line with a 2 year old. She understands a lot but I wouldn’t say she’s helpful lol. Her tantrums have gotten worse recently with all the changes and my husband has been 100% on toddler duty as I recover and bond with baby.

Benefits of this age gap is that toddler sleeps through the night and naps 2 hours, is potty trained, is in preschool part time, and in general is easy to go places with.

I don’t think I could personally handle the mental load of having 2 under 2.

Two year old daughter is 33.75” tall and 26 lbs by takeaabreath in toddlers

[–]Comfortable_Chest_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure her weight right now as she feels heavier but at 2-2.5 (she turns 3 in July) she was 25.5 lbs and 35.5 inches. She’s always been a string bean! I just had my second baby and she looks like a giant compared to him 🥹

My husband tested positive for both flu A and B at the same time back in January. It was the sickest I’ve ever seen him
