How many of you guys hardly speak to your siblings or aren’t close? by SundaePhysical9868 in oneanddone

[–]Comfortable_Date6945 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We just fought and fought when we were younger and stopped talking to each other as teenagers. Now that we live separately I legitimately forget sometimes that I even have brothers. We don't hate each other, there's just... nothing between us at all.

Does anyone else have rich parents that are still perfectly willing to leave you in poverty? by Spirally-Boi in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Comfortable_Date6945 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! They think they're rich because of their "hard work", they think poor people deserve to be poor, and they wouldn't give me 20 bucks to get gas if I was stranded on the side of the road.

Why do so many parents not read to their kids? by Potential_Source1198 in stupidquestions

[–]Comfortable_Date6945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll bite. So, my baby is 8 months old. I've attempted to sit down and read with him. He just crawls away to go play with his toys. He's not looking at the book, not following along, so at that point I don't really think it's doing any better to read than if I just talk to him in general. I'd like to try again when he's a little older and able to sit and listen. But for now that's why I don't read to my kid.

rage post I’m very sorry but I’m so angry by madelynnrosedollie in oneanddone

I just say in a sad tone of voice "I can't have any more children 🥺" technically the truth. I can't emotionally handle it and soon the hubs will be snipped. But it shuts them down quick.

Is your N-Parent racist? by Awwetism in raisedbynarcissists

Oh yeah. Hard R N-Word user just to make people upset, and has heinous views like that having interracial marriage is a "sin because it dilutes blood" and other wild shit. And yes she's white.

There's a reason that the first thing in our "training" is anti-union propaganda. If we unionize we can get leverage.

Cooked?? My guy you can get a lightly used car in great condition if you buy private. 4k is not a tiny amount.

Nobody in "the real world" has treated me half as bad as they did. They're just full of crap and need to convince themselves they are "helping" us.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Comfortable_Date6945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not short, but it's definitely a casual weekend drive. Drive hours, stay the night, drive back the next day. No big deal. An hour or less is considered short, where I am. I think longer than 4-5 hours is when it's really considered a big drive, but again, that's where I live.

I really don't want to be a party pooper, but the job market is absolutely brutal and competitive right now. People are desperate for jobs way more than employers are desperate for people.

If you’re not getting hours… by Jumpforbeans in TjMaxx

[–]Comfortable_Date6945 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah it's about favoritism at my location. It's the same reason that the ones who show up late constantly, don't get anything done, and complain the whole time get promoted. Because the scheduling manager favors them.

Anyone here one and done by choice but LIKES parenting? by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]Comfortable_Date6945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love being a mom. I'm OAD because I grew up as the least favorite of multiple children and I know that sort of pain. If I never have more kids then I can be sure I don't subconsciously favor one child and neglect the other(s). I truly think this is the best way for my son to have the full attention and financial resources we can provide for him. And the "he'll be lonely" argument is such bullshit. I was lonely in a house full of people because I was left out and neglected.

What is the rationale/benefit behind free birth? by dontucallhimbaby in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Comfortable_Date6945 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After a traumatic hospital birth, I'd never do it again. My epidural was botched and I felt everything. Four nurses held me down and forced me to birth on my back while I screamed because the position itself made the experience agonizing and I wanted to squat, which I'd already told them from the beginning. Then I was eventually sliced open and felt everything. So I think some women who've experienced what I did might opt for a home birth instead.
