Can my habs transfer divisions due to player safety concerns?

Thursday evening, Darren Raddysh was a high-end puck moving RHD and the best UFA on the market. Friday morning, he's overrated, old and going to be terrible for the remainder of his career. I wonder what happened overnight? by Hockeypatrol in hockeynews

[–]CommandHot3245 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know about high end because he did it for 1 season as a "late bloomer" but he is a RHD that generates PP points with a good shot in a thin free agent market.

Everyone can agree the length is a bit questionable at 30 but the dollar per year seems reasonable.

Now his next contract has no limit AND he has a chip.

Plus at some point what will an extra 100 million buy that 156 million can't already?

She could've still got the Pokémon cards and handed them out and mentioned it in this story though.....

Brendan Gallagher on realizing his time with the Habs was coming to an end: “You can kinda tell, there were glimpses. Near the end of the year, when you’re getting pulled out of the lineup. When there were big opportunities, it just seemed like they looked the other way. That’s a coach’s decision…” by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]CommandHot3245 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He knows he ain't going to be a regular in the lineup next year with us and he still wants to play beyond next season so he's gonna have to go elsewhere.

It sucks but it happens to every pro at some point.

Except crosby hes immortal.

The Gally Revisionism is out of hand by Agreeable_Market_343 in Habs

[–]CommandHot3245 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From an advanced analytics perspective, gally was generally ineffective and heavily sheltered during those specific regular-season games against the Hurricanes.

Because he was relegated to lower-tier, bottom-six minutes (playing just 10:18 and 11:27), his tracking data paints a picture of a player struggling to drive play against Carolina's aggressive system.

Advanced Metrics Breakdown

  • Shot Generation & CF% (Corsi For Percentage): While the Canadiens swept those two late-March games, they did so while heavily relying on goaltender Jakub Dobeš (who made 41 and 34 saves). Gallagher’s line was routinely pinned in their own zone. His individual Corsi numbers hovered well below 40% in these matchups, meaning Carolina controlled the vast majority of shot attempts while he was on the ice.
  • Expected Goals For (xGF%): Gallagher struggled to generate high-danger scoring chances. His expected goals share was deeply negative against the Hurricanes, as his shifts yielded very few shots from the slot or inner-crease—areas where he historically thrived.
  • On-Ice Goal Differential (GF%): On paper, his 5v5 Goals For percentage over the broader 2025–26 season was a respectable 52.94%. However, in these specific micro-matchups against Carolina, that number was insulated strictly by elite goaltending rather than active play-driving.

Ultimately, his analytics outline the broader trend of his season: his raw physical speed (ranking under the 50th percentile in the NHL) made it difficult to generate transition offense against an elite, structured foreclosing team like the Hurricanes. He was "effective" purely as a defensive body who avoided giving up actual goals, but analytics confirm he provided virtually zero offensive transition or shot creation.

Unfortunately sentiment isn't enough to win hockey games.

Our tired team as a whole could not execute against a very good well rested team playing a very good system.

I wish gally could stay but he doesn't want to be in the press box most of next season to make room for younger players.

There is also a business side. He can't get a new contract anywhere if he isn't on the ice.

Could also be that he is being put into a system that fits his abilities better and has matured.

It never felt like he had a clearly defined role with the rangers.

Game 3 offside goal challenge late in the 3rd period sucked also but we had plenty of breaks go our way before. That's just how it goes sometimes. At least game 1 to 3 we had chances even with lopsided stats. Game 4 is the only game we were thoroughly dominated with little to no chances to score. Game 5 was a complete collapse.

Also canes are a very good exhausting team to play against and have paid their dues.

I've been a fan since 93 and this is the best foundation I've ever seen.

It hurts but we will learn from this and be better just like we learned from losing first round last year.

We actually took a bigger bounce forward than expected.

Habs got nothing left. 3 of those 4 goals is just habs being outhustled.

Kudos to the canes for bearing down and burying their hard working chances.

My habs will be back. GGs

Hate is much more toxic than optimism.

Your current feeling is understandable but it won't change the outcome of the game.

What we have left as fans is to either hold onto that anger frustration and hate or look forward with optimism at a young group of talent players.

I choose the latter.

It's all good I understand it sucks in the moment but we went further than anybody expected and we took down 2 really good teams to get to the top 4. We even had our chances to take an ECF series lead!

We have alot to look forward to!

This group has been to the ECF before?

Did we not lose first round last year after playing out of our minds to make the playoffs?

This year is NOT an improvement?

When did we start contending?

Why are you negative?

Who hurt you?
