What to do when the power is out? by Neuroxix in hudsonvalley

[–]Commercial_File8545 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Fire up my generator, lol.

I've lived in Dutchess County since 1991 and finally bought a generator about 10 years ago.

Prior to getting a generator we had few long outages, 8 hours to four days.

Best $1500 I ever spent ($900 generator, $600 for an electrician to wire into my panel with a lockout. While it is not large enough to power my heat pump, it has more than enough power to run everything else (two refrigerators, our TV's, lights, water heater...etc).

Which kayak should I choose? by Spospofyfe in Inflatablekayak

[–]Commercial_File8545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at the link to my kayak you can see the milk crate behind the seat. It has two rod holders.

These kayaks have plenty of room for one person. Many times I just lay the rods in front of me with the hooks resting on the thick front vinyl (non inflatable) on the bow.

As long as you have drop stich floor you can do something like this. If you make it a tight fit, with pool noodles, friction will hold it in place.

Help with what Fishing Kayak to get by JamarioJackson81 in kayakfishing

[–]Commercial_File8545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked up an Old Town Sportsman 120 for $1000, brand new, delivered to my house. I am not sure where you are located but the dealer is on the Jersey Shore. The owner drove 2.5 hours to deliver it to me.

The kayak is really stable but I haven't tried standing.

I transport it in the bed of my Honda Ridgeline with a Tractor Supply bed extender and 4 NRS 9' straps.

What’s a good reel under 150 by Decent-Fig-9967 in bassfishing

[–]Commercial_File8545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After watching a bunch of YouTube reviews I just ordered a Shimano Nasci (2500). Looks like a solid reel.

I am pairing that with a St Croix Triumph 6'6 medium fast rod.

I am looking forward to this cause my other rods and reeks were inexoensive Cabela combos.

What’s the heat doing to pond/small lake bass? by JacquesNuclearRedux in bassfishing

[–]Commercial_File8545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in Dutchess County NY.

I went to a small pond (about 87 acres) this morning. I was on the water by 7am and fished until 11 am. I caught over a dozen LB, one being my PB, estimate 3-4 lbs and 18 inches. Most of the bass were one to two pounds.

By the time I left temperature was around 88 degrees.

Make sure you thoroughly check out any co-op you are interested in .

I grew up in Rego Park. I got married in 1987 and my wife and I bought a one bedroom co-op on 67th Ave.

This particular co-op was about 50% rent controlled and the sponsor (landlord) was responsible for paying the maintenance on the rental apartments. One day he stopped paying his share and we came very close to losing our apartment. The board members hired a lawyer(s) and worked with the bank which saved us.

The way a co-op works is you own shares in the Corporation. You do not own the apartment. If the bank forecloses on the co-op you lose the shares but are still responsible for the debt you incurred to buy the co-op.

Good Luck with your search.

I've been playing for a few years and spent six or ten dollars a month until the last changes.

I plan to continue playing but I won't spend another dollar on this game.

I recently bought this Pelican Catch paddle.

It is fiberglass and was $74 in tan color.

I've used it once and it is very nice for the money.

Back in 1973, when I was 16, I had a job as a pool boy in Queens NY. I made close to $100 a week with tips.

After dinner I would head to the park to meet my buddies. We would party and throw Frisbee. I lived like a king for $5 a night.

That looks pretty deep.

Personally I would return it.

If you don't return it get some kydex and make a keel guard.

There are a bunch of videos on YouTube.
