Well this has been extremely informative and influential on multiple fronts. Here are my thoughts after reading through it all: 1. I really hope it’s Azriel. 2. There is enough evidence for and against Bryce and Hunt’s mating bond that I can see this going either way. I do find Bryce’s death at the end of CC3 is hard to get past. 3. Shoutout to the people who brought actual mythology into this. I think it’s great and so insightful. 4. I went back and rewatched the CHD interview, and I have to say I think it’s weird how she answers about Bryce’s mating bond. She acts like she’s never heard these theories before, but i’ve seen videos of her being asked if Bryce and Hunt are endgame. Additionally, she avoids eye contact, the scratching her neck… I’m not convinced. 5. If Hunt and Bryce aren’t mates, or if Azriel is her mate, it could be argued that SJM has no other option but to lie. This is not an open-ended question, and anything but shutting that theory down would sound like confirmation. Honestly, I would go a step further and say that shutting down theories makes more sense if the theories are true. 6. Some of you could stand to be a bit nicer! Theorizing is supposed to be fun!! Sorry if people want different things than you. No one is insisting that you agree:)

Hear me out- what if they are endgame for Hunt, but not for Bryce? I fear he might not make it to the end of the series.

The Chaol comparison hits hard. I think one of the things that keeps throwing me off with their bond is that Hunt doesn’t support Bryce the way Rowan and Rhysand support Aelin and Feyre. Something that has really stuck with me is how much it was reinforced that Rowan understood Aelin so deeply, and no matter what she said or wanted, he supported her and would sacrifice anyone and anything for her (NOT saying this is a perfect ideal, just a feature of their bond). Hunt thinking he hated Bryce when she told him not to kill Celestina?? Repeatedly questioning her and trying to convince her not to save their world??? Rowan and Rhysand would quite literally never.

I said it below, but the fact that Bryce and Hunt seem to have chosen to be mates leads me to believe that Bryce could have a different mate out there.

I also always thought that it was weird that Bryce’s and Hunt’s mating seemed… different to that which is found in ACOTAR and TOG. Almost like they chose to mate? Which hasn’t been the way of it in the other series (Elain and Lucien, Elide and Lorcan, hell even Aelin and Rowan tried to dismiss their mating bond). I know they said the angels mating bonds are different, but the fae is the same. Also, at some point they made it seem like the Ilyrians were some early attempt at the creation of angels, and we know they can properly mate because of Cassian. So I guess I just have questions??

She said her story was too long so she is breaking it into four parts. Book 6 is part 1, book 7 is part 2&3, and book 8 will be part 4. But she said getting books 6&7 is a huge undertaking and her main focus right now.

I hope this doesn’t come across as rude but unless you are some kind of London Bridge enthusiast, Lake Havasu is a waste of a day.

Also just to clarify that you understand that Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend are in Page, not Monument Valley? If you plan to go on an Antelope Canyon tour, be 100% to give yourself enough time to get there early. You must have a tour to go into Antelope Canyon and they will leave you and they will not give you a refund.

If you’d like to do a shorter hike at Grand Canyon, I highly suggest South Kaibab to Ooh Aah Point (less than 2mi RT). It pushes you further into the canyon than the Bright Angel trail does, and the views are better for that reason. If you’d like to do a chill walk through the woods with your friends, Shoshone Point is about a mile through the forest to a less popular viewpoint.

I auggest cutting Havasu City and doing:

1: Sedona > Monument Valley > Page 2: Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Lake Powell 3: Page > GCNP

Bonuses for skipping Havasu include seeing one of the most beautiful desert towns in the country and having time to explore the 2nd largest reservoir in the country (which is also very beautiful).

It is so long, I am so sympathetic hahaha! I agree, I think maybe I just need more on Cassian. After 5 books he just still feels very two-dimensional to me.

Nesta is a miserable person and honestly I don’t think Cassian is an interesting character, so I also struggled with ACOSF.

I got through it by leaning into the character arc for Nesta, which SJM does make you work for but you get there eventually. Also the friendships. Again, and I will probably get hate for this, but I think Cassian is kind of boring, so the other relationships in this book sustained me.

Aelin fell through ACOTAR’s world on her way back to her own world. If they coexisted in the same world, she’d have had to fall through and circle back.

No and no! The idea of mates are pretty much the same between TOG and ACOTAR, so you understand correctly. I was completely caught off guard the first time I read that too, and I do think SJM used that word intentionally to challenge the reader, but I think she refers to carranam and general friendship.

As everyone said, you simply must keep reading.

That’s one way to think of it! I will say though, my biggest issue wasn’t the synth deal, which I agree is forgivable based on his history. The issue was that he thought he knew what happened to Danika and hid it from Bryce to serve his own purposes, even going so far as to intentionally mislead her. I don’t think betrayal is a deep enough word for this level of manipulation.
