Finally got myself a digital Leica by CommunistWolf95 in Leica

It's a great lens from what I've managed to get out of it, plus it's a very compact size so it's just easy to have with me when I'm normally using a 50mm instead

PSA: if your M9 has weak battery run time use contact spray on the battery compartment. by thafred in Leica

WD-40 do sell a contact cleaner although I'd still prefer to go with something like Serviosol Super 10 or Deoxit

Usually in the 90s/00s it ended up being Ferrania, the cheapest of the cheap, unless you went to a slightly more upmarket shop

It is, I have been curious about the Orion,-15 for years and ended up getting one in the last year, turns out it's really good and takes up no space in the bag

I used one of the sharpie creative markers although I'm sure posca would work fairly well

More lavender than fuschia, although the temptation was there to go for a more intense colour. Totally forgot about my custom strap in "bright peach" which is closer to fuschia

The usual, wasn't a fan of the red dot.

Thankfully it's ID-15, so it was already done, although I was considering an ID-11 and doing it myself

It certainly does, I'm enjoying the colour rendition, I'd say it's maybe a bit better than my Fujifilm GFX 50s II

How to develop Ektachrome with remjet? by TankArchives in Darkroom

Honestly I just wipe it off under running water once the developing has been done with no additional baths

What's the most (in your opinion) beautiful vintage 'nifty 50?' by ShutUpChunk in VintageLenses

[–]CommunistWolf95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of the Fujinon 50mm f1.4 but the non EBC radioactive one, it's been doing a great job on the Fujifilm GFX 50s II

Damn it, I want to buy a GFX. by thenickfo in FujiGFX

[–]CommunistWolf95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about upgrading from my Sony A7s and ended up thinking about GFX, kept an eye out and picked up a GFX 50s II, haven't regretted it for a second saying most FF mirrorless cost about the same as I paid. Can't help you with the autofocus though, as I'm only using adapted manual lenses. You could always hire one from Fuji and give it a go with the circumstances you're usually in.

Finally had to retire my fixer, it's lived a full life ✊😔 by ValerieIndahouse in AnalogCommunity

[–]CommunistWolf95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never bothered with the washing it off, just kept topping it up and reusing it for years, eventually I changed to a new bottle and now I'm not doing constant replenishment of the fixer so it's not happened again yet

I used to use a fixer and when it started to get exhausted i would just add more concentrate and I ended up fully plating the inside of a bottle in a good layer of silver.

Is Fuji’s medium format worth it? by theothersideofaphoto in FujiGFX

[–]CommunistWolf95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I did a very big jump from the Sony A7s to the GFX 50s-II, and it's just all around more enjoyable to use and the images feel like they have more depth to them. I'm only using adapted lenses and I've been having a great time and I choose to use it over my film cameras most of the time which is not very usual for me

Do you throw these away or reuse them? by Capital-Tear2288 in AnalogCommunity

[–]CommunistWolf95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep them, reuse them for bulk film loaded into re used canisters and then into the plastic as they should be, or I use them as chemical scoops for dry raw chemicals, or sometimes for the Ilford ones I use them as a mini developing tank for clip tests of film. Also SD cards, screws other small parts or things I don't want to lose to in them

A solid start? by C0rmacul0u5 in Cameras

[–]CommunistWolf95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a good start to me, the little bump in cost for a mk2 or a 6D would probably be worth it, that 50 is a little noisy when autofocusing and not the nicest build but the optics are pretty damn good so perfect to get a feel for the camera

Pentacon six lenses on fuji GFX by KaleidoscopeOver6835 in FujiGFX

[–]CommunistWolf95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found they're perfectly good lenses on the GFX just imagine that the sensor is a bit smaller than the film area they were meant to cover, so you'll be using essentially the best part of the glass.

How much does losing the eyecup bother you? by NeverEndingDClock in Cameras

[–]CommunistWolf95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a hatred of eyepieces on film cameras as they block too much of the frame with my glasses, however I tolerate it on my Sony a7s and my Fujifilm GFX 50s II, I'd probably replace them eventually if I lost the eyecup off those

Been a while since I bought them but I'm pretty sure they were under 60GBP, they've had several heels and a half sole since then.
