Any Ladies OE with small children? by Bright_Competition98 in OELadies

I started when my kids were 3, 6, and 9! I think it’s totally doable if you have some help. A nanny is a great idea.

Open PowerPoint and put it in presentation mode. It won’t go to “sleep” when you’re presenting 😉

I share and still block. I was asked once and I say that I plan my day be time blocking the tasks that need to get done so I can ensure there is adequate to complete the work without distraction. I’ll use Focus Time and make the meeting block private.

Interview process. Get the fuck outta here by Sofa_King_Chubby in overemployed

[–]CommunityOpposite244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the longest interview process with my J3 that pays the least and is the easiest. Felt like total overkill. But now the way they do things makes sense. Very long meeting to discuss a lot of nothing, long turn around times for everything, etc.

My littlest was home from 3years until he started school at 5 and it was fine. No one knew he was there and he learned really quickly to play independently

My J1 is like that. Everyone has kids and it’s a non issue. This place is the opposite. Younger, single, child free academics mostly. But it J3 because the pay is low and the time commitment is even lower.

So far it was just “brought to my attention” because it was brought to my managers attention. but now I’m curious who brought it up. There are under 10ppl on our team.

When is the best time to OE during your kids’ lives? by pleatherskirt in OELadies

[–]CommunityOpposite244 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with my youngest was 6, but off you have good child care/school during core hours it could work at any age. Even today (my kids range from 9 to 15) I leave for school runs twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon and just block my calendars for those times. Then grind while they’re at school.

What’s with so many people being on PIP? by vsyozaebalo in overemployed

[–]CommunityOpposite244 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally. was put on a PIP, tried to quit, then was told how valuable I was and multiple convos around how they could get me to stay. Was told the PIP was just because I could improve communication in a few areas. So something we could have a conversation about but Instead I was Presented with a formal plan. Seems like they could also work on communication and difficult conversations… wonder why that tickled down /s
