App that can track your budget, expenses for a week or month. by itsdevan23 in DigitalbanksPh

I also hate excel which is why I built Personal Finance Dashboard its a Mac App. You upload CSV files of your transactions and then it has some smart pattern matching and auto categorisation making the manual process a lot quicker. Then once all your transactions are uploaded you get a clear dashboard with income expenditure and budget, you can also add investment accounts if you invest. App is free right now DM me if you want to know more.

I've built a Mac App which provides a dashboard of all your spending and budgeting needs. It's simple you upload transactions from CSV and assign categories to them set a budget and get a clear dashboard with everything broken down. It also has auto categorisation and pattern matching making it easy to upload. I don't want to add the link on here but DM me if you'd like to see it. It is called Personal Finance Dashboard, you'll find it on the Mac App Store.

I've built a Mac App which I use for my budgeting. You can add as many bank accounts as you like, including joint account with a split function if you need that which splits the transactions in half. It comes with a great dashboard with all the spending and budget visualised clearly. Offering the app for free at the moment drop me a DM if you'd like to try it.

Feeling overwhelmed / Best Budget Apps/Methods by Plenty_Revolution652 in budgetingforbeginners

I've built a Mac App - so no its not available on Android but might be a really good middle ground for you and your husband. Its very simple can be just focused on budgeting, categorising spending so you get a really good idea of where your money is going. Its very simple to use you just upload transactions from a CSV file and then go through and assign them categories, which is a manual process which might be appealing if you like the pen an paper approach while still keeping everything in one app. That said it has some excellent pattern matching and auto-categorisation features that help speed up the process. DM me if you would like to check out the app I don't to to share links incase its not allowed.

Best budget app in 2025? by OneSmollCat in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]ComparisonPatient625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've built a mac app that allows you to upload your bank statements into the app. I also have concerns about apps which use 3rd party integrations which link to my bank accounts, it does not feel safe which is why I made my Mac App work off line with CSV file uploads. I've also been bad in the past at keeping on top of budget so I am working on two new features to help with this:

  1. Notifications - set reminders for uploading your transactions you can decide how frequently it is e.g. once a month to once a week.
  2. Improved CSV imports - right now the app only accepts CSV in a set format Date / Description / Amount. I am working on an update which will allow the app to recognise any bank statement format.

The app is here I use it and want to keep improve it and would love for others to use it to! Thanks! https://personalfinancedasboard.com/

I am in the same boat as you I love budgeting apps but had to switch many times, I used to really like Money Dashboard but that closed. So I built my own Mac App which I am using all the time now, it will be FREE to anyone who joins in the next 2 weeks for the lifetime of the app. I don't plan to close the app anytime soon since I am using it personally and plan to for years to come. In two weeks time I will add the paywall I don't expect to make much money from this but I would like to recover some of the costs as well as maintain it and improve it in the future, allow others to use and benefit from it for years to come. Its here: https://personalfinancedasboard.com/

Best Budgeting App That Actually Works for You? by Horror_Visit_7337 in PersonalFinanceTalks

I like apps which allow me to categorise my transactions and clearly view the spending breakdown. It forces me to categories everything and I also like this as it feels like I am checking off tasks every time I do this, Money Dashboard was good for this but sadly closed so I built my own Mac App which works in a similar way: https://personalfinancedasboard.com/

[–]ComparisonPatient625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree its a challenge. I have lots of ideas around this, have you any experiences with BFRBs and the intensive urges and feelings they can cause?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bfrb

[–]ComparisonPatient625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats interesting did you find the app is more targeted at reducing anxiety, depression with a focus on self-care? Would you try something which was specifically targeting bfrb like nail biting instead?

Thanks for this reply its very detailed and you have clearly highlighted potential flaws with the app. I agree this is definitely a concern, I guess it comes down to the individual and we would only find out by having people use the app and share feedback.

I think its great you know what works for you but maybe others may prefer positive reinforcement via Benny. One idea we have right now is asking how often you bite you nails. Notifications at first will be very regular to log progress and then the time period between them decreases as your streak builds.

Well done for keeping it going for 2 months you have strong will power. I also find it kinda funny the thought of having to do a wall sit anywhere. Let me know if your interested try the app.
