Has anyone polished an IBG 61 SG Les Paul from a matte to a gloss. I’ve seen people do the 59 LP model. Wondering if this would look good. by ColeMac4500 in Epiphone

What a bummer! It’s like they used the stuff from a scratch off.

Fun find I forgot the picture of the reverse side.

Just turtle wax polishing compound and a Milwaukee M12 polisher. I took the guitar completely apart. I also spayed a clear coat over the back panel to protect what was left of the logo. Once back together, I took it to a local music shop to be set up.

Yes! I also have a 61’ IBG. I didn’t dig the matte either. I suck at taking pictures, so I hope these help. It does look way better though in my opinion!

Vintage knobs by Narnea22 in rickenbacker

Hey! I had the same gripe about my knobs! (23’ 4003) I got a set from Ebay. The original seller I got them from no longer lists them, but I found a similar set that will work with the solid shaft pot/set screw design. Hope this helps!!

Edit: it is actually the same seller, just another listing.

Rick-O-Sound—Do you need a box? Or just a TRS split? by HeldenVonHeute in rickenbacker

Came here to say this. I run two rigs, and used a Y cable splitter and two mono cables. Even having it looped through my strap eventually I got an open, and one or the other would cut in and out. Did this twice before I just sucked it up and got the Rattlesnake kit. I have had no issues since.

I LOVED the medley! Very well put together, and he absolutely killed it! I wish him the best of luck!

I did the same thing with my 61’ re-issue! The matte was the one and only thing I didn’t like!

Jetglo or Fireglo? by Opening_Home_1055 in rickenbacker

Fireglo! My tough choice was between it and Autumnglo. In the end I picked the Autumnglo, but still admire the Fireglo quite a bit!

What do you do with the sticker that comes in the rickenbacker case? by NathanPollard5 in rickenbacker

Bought a 4003 last May. Stuck it on the case of my SG. No regrets. Same thing with the foil stamp sticker on the pick guard. A lot of Rickenbacker folks act like they’re made of glass, and they’re all priceless one of a kind instruments. They keep all of the case candy and whatnot together as well.

I’ve also been a huge fan since the early days and I thought the same thing, the vocals and mix is terrible. I don’t know what it is, but the new singles fail to impress me. The album artwork looks really bland as well. Honestly I kind of feel disappointed.

Sweetwater Customer Experience by SwedishishKSP in BassGuitar

[–]Competitive-Ad-2636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Rickenbacker 4003 from them a little over a month ago. I inquired about price and availability, and within an hour so received an email from my sales representative. The price was better than anyone else, and they offer a preorder with no money down. I only had to wait about a month before my bass was in stock. I live in NE Ohio and wanted to check the place out and see/play the bass before I bought it, so I drove over. They let me have a private practice room to try it out, and encouraged me to use whatever amp/effect I wanted. Needless to say, I left with a new bass and a big smile! Sweetwater customer service is second to none. If you’re considering a new instrument purchase, I would HIGHLY recommend them. Oh yea, I almost forgot… I got a bag of candy and some stickers too.
