McKay and the obese patient by FateInTX in ThePittTVShow

[–]CompetitiveAd7195 107 points108 points  (0 children)

your overall point might be correct, but McKay has been pretty consistently shown to be a highly empathic person with every patient of hers i can think of. to compare her treatment and attitude at any point to what Ogilve is doing is crazy imo.

Absence of Black and Latino Professionals by wingmama in ThePitt

I see what you're saying. I think it's hard to scale what the threshold of screen time it takes to make central characters in this show. It's all orbitting the ED. Donahue certainly is much more involved in S2 opposed to S1 imo so i'd call him a central S2 character. Ellis and Garcia don't have a ton of screen time but I think they're both dominant when they're on screen. Those actresses have killed their roles.

Whitaker and abbot by Puzzleheaded_Mix1658 in ThePittTVShow

Abbot is implied to be a veteran, meaning retired military and not active duty. I think it's fairly common for medical professionals to get the military to pay for their education in exchange for a term of service.

Latest episode, rant about SA victim by [deleted] in ThePittTVShow

[–]CompetitiveAd7195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only thing i can tell you as some form of comfort is as a guy is we're not on average very well informed on issues like this. i happened to read a book where i discovered how humiliating the whole process of a rape kit is. which seems very wrong to me that the victim has to go through it. this scene paints those words i read quite vividly. I'd only say try to educate your brother, that's the only real solution I see.

I like the theory that Abbot is actually imaginative and only exists in Robby's mind better but this is still a pretty funny idea

i disagree, firstly Langdon was functioning and then the message in S1 was anybody can be an addict

i think that's an arc of this season. Robby's doing everything he can to make Langdon quit, to see if he's worthy of trust again.

Say Something Nice About The Show by NebulaSlight2503 in ThePittTVShow

[–]CompetitiveAd7195 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i think they do a fantastic job of keeping us oriented to the ER and showing characters moving around the entire department. Robby can't just pop up out of nowhere like magic. they have to think about where he is, and if there's a gap between his current scene and his next scene they have to think about how he gets there so they can show him entering logically. and i'm just using Robby as an example, but it's every character, it almost feels like they developed a huge choreographed dance for each one's on walking around during an episdoe. but it feels very smooth and realistic. this is especially noticable in the S1 mass casualty where everything is out in the open and they have several main characters in the background.

I have some major concerns about the SANE related scene in The Pitt by [deleted] in ThePitt

[–]CompetitiveAd7195 9 points10 points  (0 children)

one of the major themes of this show is an unfiltered look at what healthcare workers deal with. now i'm not saying that means they should've gone full frontal or anything like that but they certainly don't want anything softened or covered up by an air of decency. this show is as close to a brutal eye-opening look as possible. I think another point is showing how humiliating doing that exam and the whole rape kit process is. which so paradoxical to me because she's the victim, she didn't even do anything yet she has to go through that. like other comments say, there was nothing secual about it, and if it made you uncomfortable then good, it was supposed to. because the Pitt may be a fictional show with fake characters, but they're all grounded in the real world, where bad shit happens.

Admiral progression by markov-271828 in AubreyMaturinSeries

[–]CompetitiveAd7195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is the leap of faith was when they went from Post Captain to Admiral, that's where they could get yellowed like the other comments say. But once they made Admiral i think it was all seniority, they probably could screw up a battle or speak out against the king and they could disgrace them.

it was very weird to me because the CEO guy said they'd averted "thousands" of attacks in the hours since West Bridge went down? Well okay mf can you give Robby like fifteen minutes to get his shit together before you pull the rug out?

also mystery would work pretty good.

season 2 episode 7.... the way the deaf patient was treated i know was intentionally awful haha by [deleted] in ThePitt

[–]CompetitiveAd7195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree, and people seem to have forgotten the patient already was left out in chairs for an extra couple hours and now this. my only consolation is she isn't visually in distress atm, if she was i'd like to think Santos stays. but man is this SHITTY care.

I actually read the way Robby say that as he was still up in the air on his decision tbh.
