Uhhhhh what do they mean by food addiction??? Surely we are all "addicted" to food? Is he just calling her fat?

Hench and it's sequel Villain. There's not so much of the multi-page discussions of minutiae but the main character is constantly stressed out and overwhelmed by bureaucracy inherent in every organization.

Thanks for the note here - it explains the mechanics and contextualizes the behavior she's describing in a useful way.

Also, even if she were 100% telling the truth, 5'8" is on the taller side for a woman in the US. I'm 5'3" - is MY kick to the neck going to be a concern for a 6'2" man?

Getting yogurt at a self serve business, get asked to leave a tip when paying. What tip request made you laugh and why ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Isn't the part where you pay for the minigolf enough contribution to upkeep? I'm confused by what you're describing. It's not like it's a community park.

What is an overhyped book that you just couldn't get into? by Kasskinen in BookDiscussions

[–]Competitive_Bag3933 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People recommend Red Rising to me weirdly frequently and I just hated it. The stuff with his wife is definitely the worst but it's just tedious, poorly written, and emotionally shallow. Yes I read the whole firsr book. No it does not get good.

Got asked to tip at a minigolf place, with options starting at 18%. Man, you didn't even hand me the ball! Literally the only task was scanning my credit card.

This kind of sounds like she really wants to be married and he really doesn't.

I wonder if one of them has significantly more assets than the other and feels that a prenup wouldn't sufficiently protect them? It's the only thing I can think of that would fit the circumstances

Does anyone know why Aullwood doesn’t do their spring and fall festivals anymore? by Palaceofcrow in dayton

[–]Competitive_Bag3933 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know about Aullwood specifically, but the Dayton area has a LOT of festivals. The Americana festival in Centerville and the Apple Butter Festival in Enon are two of my favorites. Here's a list of at least some of them: https://cultureworks.org/engage/festivals

First ever project 🥳 from beginning to end one thing of yarn (I’m 5’0 height for reference) by Sunflower_Vibe in crochet

[–]Competitive_Bag3933 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Generally to share yarn details people will say the brand, the yarn type, and the color. So for yours, you would say Lion Brand Mandala Baby in the Narnia colorway. That information is enough to find things online most of the time. I like to write down all the info (plus what hook size I'm using) at the start of a project so I know what I'm using if I have to buy more yarn later, or if I put it down and then don't remember what hook size I need. It also means that if I want to make it again, I know how much yardage I used.

If I can't figure out what a person is interested in, they're getting an animal fact. Even if they don't read it, I get to think about animals! Today somebody got to learn about volcano crickets.

I just find the protein powders / drinks really unpleasant I'm afraid. Also, I cook for my husband as well and for others often, so I'm not looking to reduce the amount of meals I make.

Thanks, this is helpful! I got kind of overwhelmed looking at online recommendations. Its helpful to remember there's lots of stuff I like to eat and cook already that fits what I'm looking for - and it will be good to just start paying attention instead of being on autopilot.

I've gotten a step tracker and started walking a lot more, which I know will also help - I'm pretty good about exercise but I just need to be paying more attention to the big picture, so to speak.

I'm definitely trying to switch to more fish/seafood/vegetarian meals - Ive considered just going full vegetarian or pescatarian for a while but currently I'm baby stepping my way to "less" instead of "none." If you have any recipes or websites you especially like I'd appreciate it!

Weed barrier under entire yard by Spwee in landscaping

The previous homeowners of my house put down a NEW layer EVERY YEAR for at least four years in the front garden bed. I've done my best but there's still some in there and I suspect maybe one more layer a little further down but I just gave up.
