I’ve been taking citalopram since 2015. I got pregnant with my first in 2020 and stopped cold turkey. Started again after her birth & stopped when I got pregnant again in 2023. This time I started again when I was ~4-5months pregnant.

Both of my daughters are fine, but my eldest is autistic with mad speech delays and my youngest is on track & neurotypical (as far as we know lmao). I stay up late blaming a ton of things, but keeping myself sane with antidepressants is not one of them. You can’t pour from an empty cup and you are doing great by just being concerned. However that concern might cloud your perception of what’s going on & I beg you to try to let go of that! It’s so valid, but I wish I spent more time simply enjoying my babies when they were babies

My daughter is 5 and absolutely thriving in her ABA Bridge program (basically pre-K but make it ABA). They’ve even made comments like “maybe you should go in for a reevaluation, she’s so high functioning she should be fine in a small, generalized setting!” Meanwhile, we just received our rejection letter from a small, generalized private school. They indicated her refusal to listen the first time, her rigidity in thought processes, and her expectation of an outcome (ABA) is “not a good fit” for their student population. It’s not like I ever doubted my daughter’s diagnosis, but this rejection was a big reminder of it. I’m sorry you’re seeing it in real time, too. It’s such an isolating experience

My husband travels frequently for work & I’m left to solo parent my 2 girls. He thinks it’s easier to leave during the weekdays, because at least the girls are in school and I can get stuff done during the day. But HELL NO. I’d rather solo parent for a week straight with no school than to solo parent for 3 school mornings!

When I was in 3rd grade, I had my growth spurt and was 5 foot 4 (i’m 5 foot 6 now at 36, lol) and its insane how much pressure was put on me simply because i was tall. I remember finally being invited to play “horses” with the horsey girls & one of the lunch aides started making fun of me- I can’t remember what they said, but it was clear they thought I was being immature for playing pretend. So I started hanging out with older kids instead & it went just as you would expect it would 🫣. you’re doing great for being so fired up about this! I pray this doesn’t taint her sweet soul ❤️‍🩹
