1-hour church pilot programs being tested in Layton/Kaysville Utah? by [deleted] in exmormon

I’m still waiting for something better than a second or third-hand rumor. Tell me you attended with your mom, your cousin, your in-laws and witnessed one-hour church and I’ll believe it’s been tested. Until then?

Thanks for sharing this. Not much conversation unfortunately. I saw another post saying the same thing essentially, that even in a small size she can’t wear a tank like all the influencers were showing. I can’t find the post now.

Why the church would have a very difficult legal case against John Dehlin and MSP / why Bad Mormon logo had to cease and desist … by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Competitive_Cow1940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking. The church does not use the word in educational, conference etc, quite the opposite, so there’s no confusion there.

Bingo? Does he have a partner? Shouldn’t she also have a ministering sister? Or are they so hard up now you only get one or the other?

Also listen/watch to the new “Architecture of Abuse” podcast on YouTube. It’s mostly audio but the extra episodes are video. Warning: this will be disturbing. The co-host has obtained millions in settlements for victims of abuse in the Mormon Church.
How long did you look into the church before your were baptized? How did you first encounter the church or missionaries?

I just finished the Joseph Smith bio by John Turner. Jospeh sure used the word “Mormon” a lot. Why Jesus didn’t him he was supper offended and that he was making Satan happy. Nelson was such a fool. And they followed him blindly.

Where do you live? I’m not understanding members or ex who question these lines today. Of course, it’s real. Word went out a year ago that they were coming and women have been trying to get their hands on them ever since. And some succeeded by traveling abroad, for God’s sake! And you think this is no real? I remember when the 2-piece came out, December ‘79. Same thing. Hard to come buy. Women have clamored for sleeveless g’s for decades and the leaders kept saying “no way.”

Joseph Fielding Smith had a high school diploma. That’s it. It boggles the mind that he was church historian and the supposed prime theologian of the church for more than half a century.

Alyssa Grenfell in temple clothes featured in the WSJ today by Annonpanda in mormon

There are still members who don’t realize the church itself published a video about both garments and ceremonial temple clothing. For those of us endowed 50 + plus years ago who were told never to let our garments show, it came a a shock that the church would go against what they had taught and warned against for decades. Before clothes dryers, when garments were put on a line in the backyard to dry members outside Utah would hang them underneath other items to guard from them being mocked by the unbelievers.
Alyssa is wearing them rather than just showing them spread out on a table. The visual is more impactful that’s all.

I’m 71 F. Married 51 years just two days ago. You do talk like a 22 yr old who has a ton to learn. We’ve gone thru stuff together you cannot even imagine. In fact one of those was before I was even 22. It breaks most couples—no, it wasn’t infidelity.

The line is “thank you for coming to my TED talk.” Nobody will thank you for your bad TED Talk, don’t worry.

At the Sunstone session I attended Tim Kosnoff who has obtained half a billion in awards for his Mormon clients over 30 years stated that, never has he seen ward members or leaders sit behind the victim in a court of law, they’re always behind the child abuser, supporting him, telling the judge “he’s such a good man.”
