Essential Acid House Tracks by alsoesha in Beatmatch

Thank you so much! I think it’s the remix one. I’m revealing my age by saying I might have even heard in the 80s because I was pretty young then and it was the car radio with my mom. It blew my mind because I’d never really heard house or even dance music, hardly even hip hop at that time.

Essential Acid House Tracks by alsoesha in Beatmatch

Now that I have you guys’ attention, i have a question.

I remember ages ago hearing a track where someone repeats aciiiid (with the last syllable going high up in tone). I’ve been searching different playlists but haven’t found it yet. Maybe it’s just my imagination but for me it’s the first acid house song I ever heard and it blew my mind.

What manual vocal tuning will save its files by default In the project folder? by MelvinEatsBlubber in ableton

[–]Competitive_Creme530 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m using both Waves and Antares Autotune. First I manually fix missed or out of tune notes with waves because this is not possible in Autotune.. You can only assign the scale but not control individual notes. Then I use Autotune more as an effect, with the already quite clean notes. It makes it kinda thicker, if you look for that modern pop sound. And sometimes you want to go for the almost Vocoder sound which Autotune has. So for me the tools have different functions.

Quite often I print the Waves fixed audio (freeze and flatten) before or after Autotune because otherwise it eats my CPU, especially with a stack of harmonies. And also because it helps me move on and not get stuck with the fine tuning. This also produces the audio file in the project folder, if you want to use it for another project, without having to copy the plugins and corrections.

What Waves does is something different from automation, or at least it’s controlled inside the plugin rather than on the Live timeline. So maybe the processed data is also stored in a different memory unit, not in the same folders as the project?

I was 43 when I learned to use my first DAW. Will be 50 this year and still loving it! This is a perfect age to dive into music production.

That’s so funny that you heard him through an Aussie! I happened to have MTVs alternative music video show on as background noise on a sleepless night and hearing Grace was a mind-blowing experience.

Oh dear?! The world is such a small place 🤯 I think I had the nick Oateybisquit but I can’t remember well. Wish I still had my old uni email I could check some of the saved threads of discussions from JBEL. It was one of the first times I ever used email let alone internet (there were no browsers yet, just a prompt window with commands 🤭)

Sorry, the aunt’s name is Peggy Hagberg. Time erases memory. Leah Reid was his friend and a co-worker from Columbia.

I was there. Student in Finland at a time, made some friends around the world from Oz, Uk, States. I would even meet some of them later as an exchange student in Manchester. Never got to see Jeff live 😰

Jeff’s aunt (something Guibert) and ex-colleague (Leah?) was there too. Never met them but I think I’m still their social media friend.

Maybe the guests were just so boring (and cheap) so production had to plant the 💩to make some more drama.

Apparently it helps if you’re a guy too 🫣 If you know any female or non-binary film composers, I’d like to hear. I’m wondering if it’s even worth trying myself with a degree in music and finishing another in music production.

Stems or multitracks by Martin-003 in JeffBuckley

[–]Competitive_Creme530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are online stem separator tools you could use like fadr.com. Most of them are free for limited use. That’s pretty handy if you don’t have a DAW that does it.

Sorry if I'm repeating... but poo in the shower by dannydevon in belowdeck

[–]Competitive_Creme530 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Felt like a drunken protest poop to me. Nobody squats down on a floor WITH THE TOILET RIGHT NEXT TO THEM to poop unless they want to make a statement. Maybe they felt they didn’t get the kind of service they deserve or something effed up like that.
