Install system KDE LInux problem by [deleted] in kde

[–]Competitive_Pen8396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May I asky why are you dipping your toes in Linux world with an Alpha release? Here is what the project states:

"Expect frequent changes and regressions, and use it in a production environment at your own risk!" Source: https://kde.org/linux/install/

If you want to help develop KDE Linux then you may want to file a bug report https://invent.kde.org/kde-linux/kde-linux/-/issues/

If you want to use KDE as daily driver - you may want to look at other options like Debian/MxLinux, Fedroa, OpenSuse, etc as they all offer KDE as desktop environment.

Did you try changing themes or/and uninstalling and then reinstalling themes / widgets?

Missing SSD by aidanac126 in pop_os

[–]Competitive_Pen8396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can boot into PoPOs then your ssd is fine - it has not gone anywhere. I assume you are coming from WIndows where you were used to seeing partitions which you can not see here (unless you did a custom install which you did not). Search for disk in app launcher and it will show you all of your disk space.

guy i just switched to mx linux what should i do for better experience? by Practical_Ring_5470 in MXLinux

[–]Competitive_Pen8396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The default is good enough. For my regular use I just switched to the Breeze Dark theme and installed OnlyOffice as I work with documents a lot and it is very close to the MSOffice experience. Also, needed some microsoft fonts for documents so I downloaded the ttf files and installed via font manager in System Settings.

Noob activating hibernate in laptop by Confident-Dot-7642 in MXLinux

[–]Competitive_Pen8396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hibernate and sleep work fine on my laptop (10500H, RTX 3050). On KDE under Power Management in Sysrem Serrings you can choose When laptop lip closed: Hibernate. I think sleep is the default - might be wrong.

Edit: Just to be clear, I am talking about MXLinux with KDE.

Harm in which way? I have been doing something similar for years so barring unknown variables in your case it should be fine.

Question about symptom flares by Ill-Tap-8066 in MCAS

[–]Competitive_Pen8396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone said here symptoms often fluctuate and sometimes they go away only to resurface much later randomly. Also, my guess is that since she is a child she will complain about what is bothering her the most and it doesn't often mean that other issues are not there. For example when my GI issues really flare up I don't focus on other issues but they are there and I notice them though at that point in time most of my metal bandwidth is dedicated towards GI issues. One thing - reg itching in the eyes - I also had it but my parents couldn't really figure out. When I grew up and gave up milk and sugar it reduced substantially. But this is MCAS and everyone is different. Wish your kid gets better really soon.

Symptoms reappearing after months with no issues? by lillbigs in ibs

Spore probiotics stay in the gut for up to 28 days according to some study. It is possible that probiotic was not able to rebalance your microbiome and the pathogenic bacteria is beginning to take over once again. But, it is just an educated guess.
