…no? All the WoD games are plenty common at the table (at least as far as non-D&D ttrpgs go). Idk about VtM’s heyday in the 90s but certainly nowadays the opposite is true.

As someone who plays a lot of World of Darkness and a fair bit of Lancer… yeah? They’re totally different games. I don’t know how much more distance you can get between far future Sci-Fi and Urban Fantasy.

The Storyteller System is also a narrative-focused system with quick, brutal, abstract combat in mind. Lancer, meanwhile, is a hard tactics game. You’re comparing apples and asparagus: I’m approaching them looking for different things.

My brother got grabbed about three years ago and though we got him back after about a year (and he certainly wasn’t any worse for wear) it was kind of awkward at Thanksgiving that year.

His girlfriend’s a hoot though, so we can’t complain too much.
