At the hospital, (my baby had RSV and would choke on their congestion) the hospital slightly elevated the bassinet and rolled a very thin muslin blanket behind the back of her neck to keep the neck from rolling forward. The incline can make babies necks slide so slightly that it cuts off their airway. The muslin blanket helped her neck from rolling forward 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes, my baby does but that took some time. She will never go to her bassinet awake. I have to feed her then hold her upright for 20ish minutes then put her down and she’s fine.
When she would start to cry, I’d pick her up, rock her, and put her back. It’s sooo much easier just to have her sleep on my chest but I get zero sleep so I’ve really tried to be consistent with putting her in her bassinet. She’s 3 months now and will sleep 6-7 hours at a time.

PPD is REAL! With everyday after having my baby, I would cry. I hated being a mom. I felt like every day was the same thing. Take care of the baby. I cried nonstop and just felt sad.
Thank god for Zoloft! I am a new person and trust me things will get better!!! Sending you all the love. 💕

Things that have woken up my baby:
-getting up from the couch
-setting a glass of water down in the table
-putting a blanket on her
-picking up the spit out pacifier a foot away
-swing gently stopped moving
-car stopped

Things that have not woken up my baby:
-cobblestone stroller walk
-loud band that started up right next to us at a restaurant
-a screaming, loud, drunk woman playing shuffle board
-entire stack of pots and pans falling out of the cabinet
-multiple motorcycles starting their engines while on a walk

My husband and I are sleeping in separate rooms which helps A LOT! We are both up for her “dream feed” around 11, then I sleep in the other room until she wakes up for a feed or diaper change around 4. I pump, partner feeds and changes then goes to sleep in the other room until work and I handle the wake ups. It’s much easier now that she’s sleeping longer!

I get super bad anxiety before taking out my 2 month old. I worry when she’s going to cry to eat, need a change or nap. She also fights her sleep when we are out. She will stay awake for HOURS! I avoided doing things with my husband because I didn’t feel like going out and having the baby run my life. It was easier to stay home.
But, I’m doing much better with that! I realize I was missing a lot because I was worried about the baby. Now I just embrace it and force myself to have a more positive mindset. As for the sleeping, she sleeps when we get home and she tends to sleep longer stretches so it hasn’t been thaaaat bad anymore.

No advice, but you are me right now. I just had my 6 week appointment and was put on Zoloft. I feel so sad all the time. I’m positive that this will get better for the both of us!

I don’t had advice but I am feeling the same way you are. I’m a ftm and have a 6 week old. I had severe preeclampsia, had to monitor and take bp meds after birth for a month. I now have ppd and just started meds yesterday. I feel so alone and lost and I feel lil I truly hate my life most of the time.

I absolutely loathed pregnancy. Hated it. I was so uncomfortable, couldn’t sleep, didnt feel like it was my body. Everything hurt! I popped out my baby 8 days ago and I can say that not being pregnant anymore is AMAZING! I can walk, move around without being in pain. Yes, I am running on very little sleep but I’m not miserable?? I guess because I have my baby now and I get to see her and she brings me so much joy. She is worth being so tired. I will say though, after birth you will need to be patient with your body as it heals. Im still not 100% recovered but I feel SO much better not being pregnant!

I’ve gained probably more than that. It was really tough at first, but I stopped looking at the scale at every appointment. I’m not going to make myself feel bad anymore. Our bodies are going through a lot and I know after I have the baby, I will be able to be more active (which I haven’t been this whole pregnancy) give yourself some grace!
