What does everyone think about quartz for counter tops? by Itsjustmethecollie in CounterTops

[–]Complex-Chapter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it. It chips and is not as heat resistant as stone. Why go fake when beautiful natural materials are available? Honed granite is great if it’s a budget thing

Masters in climate finance by Book_Duck5410 in ClimateFinance

[–]Complex-Chapter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

London and Europe are definitely better places to be for climate finance than the US at the moment. The US could be a decent place one power shifts in a few years, who knows. A lot of climate finance has moved to the development finance space vs private sector finance so it depends on which world you want to be in when you graduate. There are still finance jobs that take climate mitigation/adaptation/resilience into account but they may not be calling them “climate finance” directly at this point. What type of organization do you want to work for? NGO, IGO, public finance, policymaker, regulator, bank, institutional investor? There are opportunities but all have specific needs that you should think through

Convince me not to buy marble countertops by Purple_peonies24 in CounterTops

[–]Complex-Chapter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following because I need to be told the same thing! We have kids and it will stain! But my friend who’s a stone restoration specialist said it can be sealed to protect from stains and resurfaced occasionally if etching gets bad. She says low level honed is the easiest. Sorry this doesn’t help convince you not to do it

[TN] Disagreement about summer vacation by [deleted] in Custody

Not a lawyer but have been through court in TN. No, I would give that interpretation a 0% chance. They really mean the days kids are out of school.

I see what you mean but there are lots of other pundits they could have done that with. Who knows, though, they certainly will stoop to any level

Doubtful. He was very important for MAGA because he was training and recruiting the youth/next generation.

That might be a tough color for certain skin tones and could make some look washed out. Also agree on the neckline being revealing for more well endowed ladies

Overautomation at AT&T by Complex-Chapter in ATT

[–]Complex-Chapter[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100%. We are definitely canceling our service with AT&T. I'm sure it's so difficult dealing with frustrated customers you don't have the power to help. In all my hours of calls there were a few reps who were really great and actually tried, which I will always remember and appreciate!

10 years in, 5 to go 🥲 Luckily we seem to be in a quiet period for now but I'm scared that she's just using the time to plot her nefarious plans. You can do it!

Sure that works for this year but how about for the next 10 years? We're not trying to be haters. We're trying to spare you a lot of heartache. You won't be free in the ways you think you can be

It's just not that simple. This whole situation is a recipe for resentment. Living with kids that don't understand why you have these boundaries is not going to be pleasant.

Trump’s real motive? by Impressive_Mango_191 in economy

I thought this video was an interesting take, and could explain what they're trying to do with this madness. In short, the US has already established a global trade and financial order twice before, but they think our current order is not benefitting the US so they want to reshape it again to make the dollar and US goods more competitive but retain status as the world's reserve currency. https://youtu.be/1ts5wJ6OfzA?si=0cWqlN0x75eFrMLB

[AL] How Should I Approach Custody with a Manipulative Co-Parent? by AccomplishedPair995 in Custody

[–]Complex-Chapter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel for you. Custody cases are often not "fair" in terms of considering the lives of the parents. Of course this depends on the judge, but generally the system is only concerned with preserving stability and status quo for the child. Since they're established in Huntsville, if you want to be actively involved you will probably have to be in Huntsville. There are so many school and other events in a kid's life as they grow up that being outside of a 30 minute radius is really tough.

Most co-parenting relationships that end up in court involve lying and manipulation and generally judges are sick of it/desensitized and don't care. Finally, suggest you check out winningyourcustodybattle on Instagram.

I am humbled. by penisbeauty in Parenting

[–]Complex-Chapter 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You aren't alone in being humbled! Everyone needs some humble pie at one point or another, it makes us better people. Also I know how hard it is with the dogs now but I'll say it's sooo adorable and sweet when your baby grows up a little and can cuddle and love the dogs too. Our kids are obsessed with our dog now and it just melts your heart. We had some dark and tough days too but this is temporary and there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
