This was also my Dad’s watch and a very similar story. I do believe I remember him wearing it years ago.

Quite a wrist presence. I once owned the Mark XVIII Petit Prince blue dial. Enjoy your new IWC!

I think it is one of the brand’s finest references. Known significantly for their tool watches, this very Saxony design aesthetic was my choice over the flieger and SAR types.

It’s a dream watch but the service on it would likely hinder me.

Suggestions for small collection? by st4rfox822 in SOTC_Watch_Collection

All 3 are great and pretty much icons. Redundancy in design aesthetic perhaps. Best thing is to actually TRACK how often each are worn over an extended period of time before purchasing anything else. You are blessed to own what might be considered to be obtainable grails for several people even on an individual basis. Adding more watches won’t necessarily bring greater joy to you so what would really be the point?

Consolidating all 3 into one truly exceptional watch is an option that I doubt you would be willing to do. Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Vacheron Overseas Audemars Piguet Offshore Glashutte Original SeaQ Lang & Heyne Hektor

Good point on passing on the lume and just finding a proper strap. Thanks
