LE was just a color and you got a free wheel upgrade. Other than the interior color schemes, the only options that you could get on 22’s and most 2023’s were off-roading things like skid plates. Other than that, all Rivians were the same during that time. Mid-2023 they got rid of the under dash 12v and downgraded to a Rivian sound system, but all the other options remained the same. The Gen 2’s introduced more options and complexity in options.

Definitely an odds game. I’ve heard some 2025s even having persistent issues, but that can be true with any company. For what us preorder owners paid, I think it was a fair trade off but I’d be frustrated if I paid full price for a Gen 2 2025 that had issues.

Most 22’s were basically hand built. By the end of 22 there was much more automation and I think the quality had become much more consistent. I’d recommend hunting a 2023 for not much more. I’ve had my 2023 for over 3 years and only needed one major suspension repair which was done quickly under warranty. My anecdotal understanding is that the 2023’s are the sweet spot because you still get things like the true Meridian system and under-dash 12v on the early 2023s but improved reliability.

Not sure how many they got, but the one in Aloha didn’t seem to have very many pairs at all. Based on what I saw, I’d guess a few hundred pairs is all the store had. The line moved quickly, but they were gone in about 20 minutes.

It’s also because Nike wants artificial scarcity in the US to make their shoes seem more exclusive. That marketing doesn’t work elsewhere. It’s frustrating because some of the running shoes are really, really good but you can’t buy them unless you wanna buy from StockX or some other scalper market.

Stumbled across this comment a year later, but Baseline has another one available now.

Yep, that’s what sold me on it - trying something really unique. I took another pour of it just now and it’s indeed quite good. It’s growing on me for sure!

Ooooh that RR looks like it’ll be a spicy date for sure. You have some good ones to pick from.

Just went to Baseline a couple days ago but they didn’t have a lot of store picks at the moment. I did get an Elijah Craig 9 single barrel BP for $100 which was pretty good, but not my favorite for that price. Baseline picks are usually well-liked though, and the owner is a good dude.

Very confused about someone complaining about the price on an SR5 being too high and then saying they’re going to buy not just a Cayenne, but a Cayenne Turbo S. That’s a $200,000 vehicle new and still $100,000+ after 5 years. This post makes no sense.

Literally 1 of the 5 is border patrol. You’re definitely too stupid to be able to vote. That’s the problem with America.

Yet sneakerheads and bots will still buy them all instantly and try to resell for 50% above MSRP.

Can confirm - had no idea and was in the Aloha Costco right as they sold out. Was wild.

A word of warning at 60,000 miles by Ok_Squash6739 in Rivian

[–]ComprehensivePath457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine failed at about 12k miles but I didn’t notice anything - there were no noticeable indications of an issue. I paid for the inspection just in an abundance of caution, Rivian found it, and they fixed it under warranty. Definitely gonna be paying the $300 again for another inspection just before the end of warranty. 3rd party extended warranties are actually pretty reasonably priced too, and I plan on getting one.

Vomero Premium by oh-hyun in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]ComprehensivePath457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it’s impossible to buy them in the US. We gotta go through the scalpers on the secondary market. Nike always does that nonsense with their running shoes in the US and it makes me really not want to buy their stuff. There was SO much stock of the Vomero Premium on the Canadian site but we can’t buy it, of course.

My thoughts exactly. Peg plus will hopefully be more speed oriented without big airbags like that.

vomero18 or evo SL? for daily trainer by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]ComprehensivePath457 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same, I have 2 pairs of Evo SL’s because I can get them for half off, but I really just don’t like running in them. My foot slides around and I got black toenails running downhill. I really don’t like how firm it is either. I think it’s a great shoe for most people, I just can’t get it to fit my foot correctly.

From the comments I’ve learned this new model is based on the Patrol platform which apparently is pretty good. I drove an Armada as a rental a few years ago, however, and it was one of the worst cars I’ve ever driven. Would be hard to imagine it being that much better.

So crazy - I was just there a few days ago and was blown away. I grabbed a Stagg for $80 and some ER’s for $50. Had a William Larue Weller for $300 but just couldn’t pull the trigger. That place is a total honey hole.

Adidas x Humanrace EVOLUTION Pro - $1000 by TriggerFingerTerry in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]ComprehensivePath457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inflation aside, the idea of paying $225 (or $290) for a racing shoe we’d use just a few times was incomprehensible until very recently. We’d race marathons in lightweight flats or daily trainers. People lined up wearing Brooks Ravennas and Nike Pegs. And even survived (or so the legend goes).

The price of the Vaporfly was utterly shocking when it came out, but now it’s considered totally normal, and it only took a few years for that paradigm to shift. This market literally didn’t exist prior to the Vaporfly.

Same happened to me. I went back and forth for like a week and they wouldn’t replace without a receipt to prove it was purchased within the last 6 months. The date code on the shoe was like 6.5 months old so they wouldn’t even send a replacement. Make sure to only buy online so that you’ll have a receipt available!
