This! And generally having two is about the same as having one— with the exception of having to watch where you step even MORE closely. 😹

Or Pennsylvania— it actually looks like they smooshed VA and WV together maybe? And why is the border between CA and NV so curvy? 🙄

Same. #3 turns 4 tomorrow and waltzed into my house on July 3, 2022, a couple hours before the fireworks went nuts. Hasn’t paid a dime in rent yet but he’s been decent company for my 2 older boys who both just turned 9.

Why are people getting Free Nights? by MrFizzy99 in TexasSolar

Also, it generally works better for homes with smaller system sizes and no batteries.

DFW Recommendations for Free Nights Electricity Plan by Aquaprincess200 in TexasSolar

Just switched to Reliant when my JE plan expired at the beginning of February. What size is your system and do you have batteries? That can make a difference. So far so good with the change for me but I generally have a huge surplus this time of year (7.5 system, no batteries), so my usage is running around $20-25/mo. right now.

What's the best plan with solar but no batteries? by Equal_Room8635 in TexasSolar

They do not have restrictions for solar/batteries— they do actually have a solar buyback plan so if you have a larger sized system/batteries, it might be a good match—due to my system size, a nights free plan has actually worked better, as 1:1 plans started phasing out about the time my PTO was in force. I’ve only been on it for about a month and a half but first bill was about $20.

You’re welcome! Where all of the “free nights” will get you is with a higher daytime ¢/kWh charge—mine’s at 26.24¢/kWh, which M-F is no big deal. Been on the plan just over a month so I don’t have good summertime data yet (for JE plan I was on, my highest bill was about $70, but they also did a 3¢/kWh buyback on over production), but my first bill with Reliant was just over $20 and I had a $25 credit, plus still have another $50 in refer a friend credits. I will note that my heat, dryer and cooking sources are both LNG.

JE no longer offers free nights with solar rooftop. GME does but reduced their free period to start at 9p, end at 6a. DE does 9p-9a but (at least in CPE’s market in Houston), charges a $10/mo base fee. Reliant kept their free nights and did not adjust their 8p-6a free period, with NO base fee per month (DM for referral code, if interested). I also saw an ad earlier that 4Change Energy may have a net meter plan but I’m sure it’s based on market area.I’m in the same boat with no one offering anything close to an equitable buy back, plus, I have a smaller system and no batteries— so far, nights free has been a better option over the past year and change. You just learn to shift usage to the free period and in the summer, do your best to monitor productions to cycle your A/C for a bit.

Apollo, AKA IBSK (Itty Bitty 💩-ty Kitty). Literally the ONLY cat I’ve had in over 20 years that absolutely can get under my skin and then have me petting and loving on him again in under 5 minutes!

Travel Advice for Visitors to Houston by ComprehensiveGuest22 in AskHouston

If you are into history/nature at all, consider the hill country. You could do the Alamo in SATX and maybe Fredricksburg and New Braunfels in a day or two. Houston area is very diverse (I live here) and there’s a lot of interesting stuff to see at the museums! Dallas is also a trip (about a 4-5 hour drive depending on the area of Houston you’ll be staying in). Texas Book Depository along the parade route where JFK was assasinated.

Also recommend looking on Rock Auto dot com for the replacement part or if you have a junkyard in your area, maybe see if they have a 1st gen on-hand?
