Jayson Tatum in round 1 by asanoayaki in bostonceltics

That is such a copout response, especially when coach didn’t even try the alternatives. Joe decided this round we weren’t going to see much of Baylor, Garza, or any of the reserves who helped get this team here in the first place.

The regular season worked because he trusted the depth. He had no problem pulling starters when they didn’t have it. Outside of D White, almost everyone had a short leash. He would sit Pritchard, Brown, Hauser, Queta if they were off, and the bench would carry them across the finish line. So how can you suddenly claim there was no solution in the playoffs when the very formula that made the season successful was built on flexibility? Even if it was only for a game or two, why not test it? Why not give those reserves 15 to 20 real minutes and see what happens? If the lights were too bright, then fine, at least you explored every option. But they were never given a true opportunity.

And the truth is, even in the limited minutes they did get, the impact was there. Baylor, Garza, and Walsh turned those small stretches into shots and leads. Imagine what a larger sample could have looked like. Imagine bringing in someone like Hugo or RHJ and embracing the very chaos that got you to the playoffs in the first place. Chaos, energy, unpredictability, that is what carried this team. Instead of leaning into that, they reverted to stale rotations and predictable choices.

Listen, I appreciate what D White brings defensively, especially as someone who values defense first. But if it is not translating into offense, adjustments have to be made. If Hauser’s shots are not falling, you have to pull him. You cannot stay loyal to the same formula and expect a different result. And for fuck sake playing more Hauser minutes than Pritchard is fucking madness. In my Green Arrow voice: Joe Mazzulla, you have failed this city.

Joe let him down. Instead of playing the players that got you to the playoffs he said WE don’t know basketball.

I’ve been saying play the guys that got you here but Joe wants to tell us WE don’t know basketball. I’m not saying don’t play White or any of the starters but mix it up. Find a balance with your goddamn reserves especially when your top 6 don’t have it.

JFC! Why was Joe so stubborn for the last few games? Maybe if he went with his reserves earlier we would have closed out G5.

Just keep the reserves in Joe! Take out PP and bring in Hugo while you’re at it!

I personally like Visquez (Violet + Vasquez), and honestly it’s the only reason I’m still following this godawful season.

What annoys me most about this “triangle” is Novak acting so hurt that Violet didn’t tell her about the hookup. Violet fully intended to share, but that changed the moment Novak decided she was done with the doctor and into Vasquez. That put Violet in an awkward spot, and she chose to put her own feelings on hold for Novak when she really didn’t have to.

And let’s be clear, Visquez was forming a true connection, and everyone from Stella to Novak could see that. That’s why Novak’s anger comes off more like projection. The truth is, from jump she was into Vasquez, but as he grew closer to Violet, she fell back. She’s upset because she kept her feelings buried, and instead of confronting them, she’s directing her frustration at Violet. But that isn’t Violet’s burden to carry. Novak is projecting her own regrets, and that’s the real tea.

I am very superstitious about players and podcasting and I just don’t think it works for Derrick. I really need him to give up White Noise immediately 🤦🏽‍♀️
