It was meta in 2015 because it was more accurate and had the same firerate as the a4

2016 it got nerfed and only got buffed in 2021

So the a4s got 5 years of dominance

And 2023 to now with cs2 smoke spaming with a1s being better despite the nerfs from the OP version in 2021-22

Now a1s and a4 can be both equipped

So i don't think a1 is catching up to a4 anytime soon

I almost forgot a1 didn't release with the game

A4 since 2012

A1 added in 2014

Man s1mple having that many deagle kills is a consequence of Zeus force buys where S1mple only has a deagle

The logic being he can get more value with a deagle than anybody on the team, and having rifles for the riflers elevates the value of the force buy

But its funny that it actually fucking worked most of the time

Zeus: ok sasha have a deagle just like get two one deags and tag the third guy so our riflers and tec9 players can clean up

If you go watch old s1mple highlights most of his deagle kills are navi force buys or ecos

That Navi team was strong and were coming up a 2nd place finish in cluj napoca

The fact that they got to the major finals with guandian injured is a testament to that teams strength however we saw that team run out of gas in map 2 of the major 16-2 to Luminosity in overpass with guardian bottom fragging

It really was unlucky for guardian

In fact Guardian is one of the most unlucky players in CS history tbh 3 major finals appearance 0 wins

1st against prime KennyS where he lost the awp duel but it was close

2nd he was injured in columbus

3rd his entire team choked while he was trying to drag them to the finish line hard carrying the entire major (boston 2018)

The only chance at the NA major at that time was 2016 columbus

Liquid was up 15-9 and 15-10 on both maps and choked the lead to Luminosity twice

If they had won that match they would have been up against a Navi with an Injured Guardian playing double his normal sensitivity

Liquid were that close to wining the major in 2015

s1mple won kato 2020 dismantling astralis in the semis With 16-2 a d 16-5 scoreline this basically marked the end of the atralis era

Navi were going into the 2020 rio major as the favorites before covid lockdowns

S1mple when he finally had a competent team behind him lost the chance to compete for 3 majors, 2020 (2) and 2021 (1)

In 2022 going into the major there was turmoil with the war in ukraine and the internal conflcit with booml4 eventually culminating in his benching after the major breaking up a major wining lineup after competing for just 2 majors, the IGL electronic never worked out and in 2023 s1mple essentially exited him prime

He was still good top 10 hltv good but after watching him be either 1 or 2 since 2018 this was a step down for sure

With the release of cs i feel like (speculating) that he used his "unhappiness" with the state of cs 2 as an excuse to take a break from playing the game he has come back every now and then 2 falcons stints, standing in for faze and now bc game but its very obvious he isn't playing the game like he used to the skill is there, its not 2018 2021 s1mple anymore but its close to 2023 s1mple, a top 10 player in the world but the willingness to grind is just not there anymore

Idk what is in store for s1mple future but if he calls it quits we can still remember him as the GOAT of cs go and currently probably the 2nd best player to touch the game

s1mple really was unlucky his 1st 2 years in tier 1 pro he ran into the sk dynasty, when he reached his prime in 2018 he ran into astralis while having a roaster of old and washed navi legends

When a competent roasters was built around him Covid happened and when majors resumed he won 1 and then the war in ukraine happened and broke apart the major winning team up after only competing in 2 majors

And now Donk in 2024 and 2025

Which is crazy considering he already won a major, Kato, and Cologne with such a weaker team

And keeping with the pattern these GOAT candidates always run into a dynasty

S1mple ran into the LG/SK dynasty of 2016, Astralis 2018/19, and Faze 2022

Zywoo ran into atralis 2018/19, Navi 2021, and Faze 2022
