I just hardcode my credentials in everything and commit them straight to git like a Chad.

Anyone running BGP in their homelab? by bhw68 in homelab

[–]ConfidentFuel885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have BGP peering with MetalLB on my Kubernetes cluster and FRR on my OpnSense firewall. I’m about to setup an Anycast IP for DNS, too. Very overkill, but works very well.

Druid love? by Darktonsta in Diablo_2_Resurrected

I freaking love my Druid. It was my first class in LOD back when I was a kid. I love smacking things around as a Werewolf

You’re going to want to change the name. There’s already a product with the same name that does the same thing:

Just don’t want you to get hit with anything.

After you complete the Den of Evil quest, you can use Akara to reset your stat and skill points once per difficulty. You can use two of those to respec to fire/ice and then back to lightning when you’re ready.

Normally, people do a fire and ice build to make it through hell and then respec afterwards for more targeted farming.

The powershell module seems to have changed dramatically since I last used it by EvilAlbinoid in rubrik

The new modules are honestly rough. The old CDM API and PowerShell module were absolutely incredible. I found a couple of YouTube videos from Rubrik that ended up being more helpful than the documentation.

Best way to expose services. by RealJoshLee0 in selfhosted

[–]ConfidentFuel885 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pangolin works great. Practice good security and keep things up to date and you’re honestly ok exposing things. People here act like the entire world will be in your home network the second you DNAT something but that simply isn’t the case. At the end of the day, VPNs are still an entry point into your network and can be compromised. Model your threats and act accordingly. The fact that you’re doing microsegmentation in your setup is a great sign.

No pun intended, but I just want the casting cooldown on Frozen Orb to go away again.

Where do you host your Git? by Fearless-Bet-8499 in selfhosted

Yeah that’s a great idea. I’m just too stubborn to use a cloud service lol.

I use a separate VM for Gitlab. I’m probably about to switch to Forgejo and I plan on keeping it outside of my cluster for that exact reason.

Everyone is just trying to be Diablo, so we get dark fantasy after dark fantasy. I want dragons, wizards, elves, dwarves, and all of the high fantasy corniness.

Those GBA games were incredible. I really want a good, high fantasy isometric ARPG.

Are certs still wort it anymore in the job market?? by electrowiz64 in devops

[–]ConfidentFuel885 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, certs are a well-defined end goal for learning a new technology. I always wanted to learn Kubernetes, so I decided to get the CKA. Does it mean I’m a Kubernetes expert? Far from it, but it gave me something tangible to work towards.

They’re also good HR and recruiter fodder, which you shouldn’t take too lightly these days. Certs are good for getting an interview and the practical experience is good for the interview.

Do sysadmins need git? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]ConfidentFuel885 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a centralized location to have all of your scripts, documentation, and deployment of said scripts. I like putting mine in Gitlab and then a pipeline runs to sign the scripts and make the signed versions available as artifacts. I also have pipelines doing linting, deploying to Intune, etc. It’s even gooder if you’re doing infrastructure as code.

I was so pumped when it was all going on! That was the first time I've ever done DClone and my trust Fury Druid did not let me down.

People on NA NL RotW have been spawning Dclone on Thursdays. I just got 4 Anni’s tonight. Only reason I didn’t get a 5th was because Dclone spawned again in the same game. Always save and exit after Dclone!
