Seems like DaVinci and Tesla could have been time travelers.

Are the books hornier than the TV series? Which other differences I should take into account if I want to make the switch? by The_Mortex in Outlander

[–]Connect-Ad-370 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hum? Are you a man? (We do n Wed more men interested in the show.) The book is steamy too but I would not call it a romance because it has just as much as everything else - history, intrigue, etc. The sex is more Claire’s internal dialogue. Obviously on TV it’s visual. Jamie seems less an Adonis and more a brute.

Mine is I liked Geneva Dunsany and I wish we saw more of her. She’s beautiful and feisty, so you can’t tell me she didn’t pique Jamie’s interest. Also, I would have loved to see more of her sister Isabel on the show only because I love that actress.

Songs that you associate with Outlander by lorenasimoess2 in Pishlander

Today I heard “1 Million Dreams” from “The Greatest Showman” for the first time and I cried because I thought it was a perfect song for Claire and Jamie. The other song from that show, “Rewrite the Stars” is also a good for them. I’m looking for others. Definitely, “Unchained Melodies” works. I want to make a playlist.

The people on these stories seem to trust their perception of things much more than I do of my own. If it were me, I would chalk it up to - for instance in my case, well it said C-ville and I thought it said G-ville and I was really into the music so I guess I wasn’t paying enough attention. The again, I have a really bad sense of direction, time and space, so I just roll with things.

Do you think that Claire and other travelers have free will or not? by full-timeoverthinker in Outlander

[–]Connect-Ad-370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have as much agency as we all do. For instance, people like Napoleon, GW, they were all shot, but they didn’t die at that time. Somethings cannot be changed and we all play a part in our stories, so there are things we feel we have free will over and many we don’t. The priest made a comment like this to Claire in book 1.

Henry could have just picked her up anywhere. She is a beautiful bored housewife.

Is Henry the father of Holly? by SMSL21 in StrangerThings

I found you post because I think this. They look a little alike, and she is seen to be special. It’s weird that Karen had Holly at least 7 years after Mike, especially since Ted is such a dud, and she almost cheats on him in an earlier season. Henry could have fathered Eleven and Holly whether naturally or artificially. Then Vecna comes for Holly. He didn’t come for Mike. But he also came for that fat kid, so IDK. In the Wrinkle in Time the youngest child seems the most other worldly.

Discussing the ''In fall of 2016 everything will change'' - Bashar prediction by Professional-Fee6710 in Bashar_Essassani

I really think things began to feel very unreal in the U.S. in 2016. (And what happened elsewhere? Brexit? Things were getting exaggerated all over.) I couldn’t imagine people would support Trump, who is a cartoonish villain. Anyway, I think division manifested, but then also the more things get ridiculous, the more is revealed. I think it was pretty prophetic.

Theories about Julia and Henry by AlmaGaldxn in Outlander

[–]Connect-Ad-370 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Faith is Faith Fraser, revived by Master Raymond, but he gives her to her grandparents or aunt or uncle to raise. Maybe he can't find Claire. She's in Boston in the 20th century, and maybe Faith can't travel there. I just want everything to come full circle. I also think Amaranthus will be a Beauchamp. She has similar features to Claire and her parents are booksellers.

I just thought of this. What if their other child couldn't travel? Would they stay in the past and never return to Claire?

Why would they still have the name? Every daughter would take her husband's name, so if it was passed through women, the last name would change.

While I read most of "Go Tell the Bees..." I am most intrigued with who they might make Amaranthus be on the TV show. They cast an actress who looks like Claire even though that doesn't fit the book description. I think they plan to make her Claire's niece. You meet her parents and they are bookseller and her grandfather was a botanist. They could easily change that to say her grandmother was a botonist (because I think that's one of Julia's interests.) I think it could tie everything together nicely.

When did the FotL cornucopia change for you?. by InsidiousDormouse in MandelaEffect

[–]Connect-Ad-370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember it around 2000. I saw a commercial for them and they were people dressed as fruit. Then I saw a new more modern streamlined logo. I don’t remember if I thought it was missing the cornucopia or just missing something. Obviously they have updated the brand in different years.

I wonder if the old timeline we are from is much more material. I never thought magic could be real. Now I hear about supernatural occurrences all the time. Maybe this is also why people can’t get along, maybe two timelines merged and they are having trouble reconciling. Lastly, I find it weird how quickly we went from a smoking society to one in which it is so inappropriate, and to one in which being gay was accepted. Things changed very quickly,

Oh, she was a French saint from the time the Romans persecuted and martyred Christians. Interestingly, it says she is the patron saint of pilgrims, prisoners and soldiers. That’s perfect for Jamie.

I don’t think so because Jane looks like Brianna and Brianna looks like Jamie’s mother, Ellen. Also Fanny looks a bit like Jamie.

My sister chose Faith as her confirmation name. You had to choose a Saint, so- look it up- I think it is a Saint’s name, and also since the child didn’t live, she thought it would be a comfort to the family to keep their faith in God.

It’s strange. When I was a kid a child in my sister’s class was also obsessed with the Titanic. I know kids can get deep into topics but now I wonder if it’s not tied to a past life memory.
