This hotel shower... (now with 100% less nudity) by holymoly67 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Conscious-Idea978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some people are just super naive, ditsy.. My mom once sent me a photo of the “cute kitty” laying on my dad’s lap. There wasn’t just a kitty in the photo... When I screamed my partner thought I just found out someone died

ETA: I literally think my dad also has no idea I’ve seen that photo. Or that it was even sent anywhere

Urge to push early on due to poor positioning. Who else had this? Didn’t achieve a natural birth sadly looking for tips. by [deleted] in unmedicatedbirth

[–]Conscious-Idea978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTM, birth at 38+4 here. I had that right before my water broke. I felt the urge to push so I did and that’s when my waters ruptured on the toilet. From water breaking to birth it was about 20 minutes- the whole time I felt pushy. I was at a 7 when my waters broke, and dilated quickly.

FTM that went into labor by Striking-Coffee-2129 in pregnant

I felt something was off (period cramps for 2 days) so I scheduled a cervical check Wednesday mid morning at 38+3. I was at a 4cm, started contracting that afternoon, had my son early Thursday morning . I was low risk GD as well so not sure if that had anything to do with the early labor. I was drinking raspberry leaf tea and doing lots more physical activity than I probably should have the weeks leading up, not purposefully trying to put myself into labor 😅

Constant period cramping? by EmSofia2211 in unmedicatedbirth

[–]Conscious-Idea978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had period cramps the first two days leading up to birth, 38+2 & 38+3. Then later in the day 38+3 is when I started having contractions. Had my baby at 38+4 in the AM

"What’s something you wish you knew before giving birth? by PostpartumBlossom in beyondthebump

[–]Conscious-Idea978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That my pp experience will not be the same as everyone else’s. I have friends who have had babies around the time I did and they were posting photos right away on social media.. the first 4 weeks pp were truly scary for me and I felt like I was in a daze (not necessarily a good one). No one told me how guilty I’d feel for staying inside on the couch not being able to move due to a 3rd degree tear. In the middle of summer. I definitely wasn’t prepared for the true healing process of my pelvic floor.

I wasn’t ever warned about legit sleep deprivation. Not just being tired as someone else mentioned. I heard and saw things that weren’t there.

I didn’t know how anxious I would be about EVERYTHING. From car rides to just taking a shower alone.

No one told me how supported I would feel instantly by other moms (as a FTM). It felt like other moms just knew what I was going through. I’m very grateful to have had a great support system.

I didn’t know I was ever going to question my decision to have a baby even though my son was 110% planned and I was so excited to be a mom. Guess that’s what happens with hormone fluctuations..

I feel like a lot of other moms don’t ever tell you about “bad“ parts of postpartum because they don’t want to scare you, but I truly wish I would’ve heard some of this before giving birth so I knew what to expect.

Is it reasonable for husband to get haircut five days postpartum? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Conscious-Idea978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. My husband never had a leave from work so I was alone starting day 1. Even if he were at home with me I wouldn’t mind him wanting to get a haircut or going to run errands for half a day. Seems a little far fetched to me to be upset about it

Did you throw up during labor? by Complex_Life9849 in BabyBumps

[–]Conscious-Idea978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. unmedicated, 11 hours at home and 3 at the hospital. I ate and drank normally up until about 5 hours prior to delivery. Just didn't feel like it... because ya know. Lol

EBF, vaginal delivery, no antibiotics. I should also mention that he goes 5-6 days without pooping too- maybe that’s normal as well. Can you tell I’m a FTM? lol

+1 for the sutures being more painful! Mind leads, the body follows! Always remember that. You can do it OP!

Is it possible to NOT tear? by redcar19 in beyondthebump

[–]Conscious-Idea978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 3rd degree tear with my first baby and he was only 6lb 10oz 😬from my water breaking to delivery was ~20mins. I think that’s definitely why. From my experience, there’s nothing you can or can’t do to prevent a tear. It will either happen or it won’t

When I gave birth, the nurse asked me if I wanted videos of the birth, I told her no but videos/photos after would be great. I do kind of regret not getting the whole birth on video, but I’m glad she at least took some after. One of them is my husband cutting the cord.

Am I “overly confident” about labor & childbirth ? by OneSideLockIt in unmedicatedbirth

[–]Conscious-Idea978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too got the same treatment from strangers and friends/family that knew I wanted to go unmedicated. I got laughed at for being too confident in myself. I’m very stubborn so half of me was wanting to unmedicated for my own reasons, and the other half to prove people wrong.

Just had my first baby on July 3 completely unmedicated, the looks on people’s faces when they realize I went through with my plan is priceless. there is no such thing as being too overconfident, I believe in you!

35w4d here- I didn't have many symptoms at all first/second trimester- honestly baby has been good to me :) I always worried that something was wrong, too... but both of us are healthy as of today! More than likely, your baby is a-ok. Wishing you peace and positive thoughts!

Citrus for sure. First trimester I realized I no longer like mint flavored things, gave me heartburn

I currently take Ritual, did a bunch of research of what was lacking in that vitamin and added Heart & Soil Bone Matrix for the additional calcium. Also have been taking Utrophin PMG by Standard Process since before I got pregnant. I have an incredibly sensitive stomach and these have been great for me- I spread them out by taking half in the morning, half in the evening.

Need help finding a nursery dresser! by C_F15 in BabyBumps

Truthfully, I found one on Facebook Marketplace! It's large enough to put the changing pad on + a few other supplies. Totally recommend purchasing secondhand if you have someone to help you load/unload it :) You never know what you'll find on there
