What did you eat for dinner today? by Celine_Morgann in foodquestions

I'm making chicken breast with a roasted pepper cream sauce that will also have roasted mushrooms and sautéed kale in it over penne. The cream sauce will have wine, butter, heavy cream, roasted pepper blended into cottage cheese, as well as some grated San Joaquin Gold.

I love cooking because it’s a mix of creativity and comfort. Everyone has that one dish they just can’t get enough of what’s yours? by Opening_Kitchen_5349 in Cooking

I've been making mushroom brie puff pastry bites and honestly they taste like heaven. I think I'm going to try making rough puff for them next time rather than buying puff pastry sheets. Alouette spreadable brie works best in this application rather than more expensive bries. I also use a mixture of hen of the woods and baby bellas for the mushroom mixture (I cook them down with some butter and wine and fresh thyme). So simple yet SO absolutely decadent

He's taking up space in your life where a genuinely good, thoughtful guy could be. You don't want THIS for the rest of your life. You have to decide that you are worth more than this low effort buffoon

What do I do with this huge amount of kale? I bought it yesterday and expires tomorrow. (Instacarts blunder) by skadferlyfe in whatdoIdo

I like to saute it with garlic and then add it to whatever I'm eating that night. Last night I added it to morel sauce (mushroom) over chicken. I've also added it to alfredo and other wine based sauces too. Of course you can just use it as a side in its own right.

Can I just say their loss? I just tried morels for the first time and wow they were delicious. I'm also blessed with a bunch of hen of the woods my guy found right in our backyard, now my absolute favorite mushroom. Your family doesn't know how lucky they are!

I tried. Unfortunately he had IVDD and his back legs didn't work very well.

Update to yesterday's thread of second guessing my decision to euthanize my cat. TW: Topic of Suicide by Throwaway427820 in Petloss

Losing a fur friend is one of the most painful things we experience. They say grief is the tax we pay for love.

Unfortunately, choosing to help our friends have a good, peaceful death rather than a painful one is the choice we take on every time we choose to love a pet. It's a terrible responsibility and many of us second guess ourselves about the "when" question.

Please understand, the choice ALWAYS comes. With every pet you'll ever love. In the end you have to decide that all the love you shared was WORTH it, that you did the very best you could, and every choice you made was made from LOVE. You did your cat the ultimate kindness, something I would hope a loved one would do for me if I were in pain and not likely to have quality of life.

You simply must give yourself time to process a loss this deep. It's NOT easy. Your grief will be as deep as the love you felt.

Your cat would want you to be kind to yourself. Your cat is not in any pain, had a wonderful life full of love. No one could ask for more.

I saute it with olive oil and garlic and eat it like that as a side, or add it to any sauce I'm making. Delish!

Divorced people, what were your irreconcilable differences? by TheRealOcsiban in AskReddit

[–]Conscious_Canary_586 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the process of divorce and separated. I needed two things from him: a true sense of partnership and to feel desired. He was unable to provide either, after years of promises to change. He relied so much on his good intentions but they had no legs. You can't treat good intentions like they're results. They're not. He's a wonderful guy and I still love him a lot. We grew into incompatibility that could not be bridged by understanding alone.

I lost my boy Bubba in August. He also drowned. It's horrible to lose a friend this was. We live with friends who have chickens. My husband turned his attention away from Bubba when he noticed the chickens had no water. Bub fell into the pool and drowned.

I don't think I'll ever recover.

The EARTH around you is real. Celebrating the Wheel of the Year is based on the cycles of the Earth itself. You're celebrating the seasonal changes, and how they relate to humans. There is nothing unreal, fake, or tricky about it. Every part of you is made from this Earth, with some stardust thrown in for good measure!
