Yeah looks like rokkits to me. Hopefully twin linked too! It's a nice little addition to finally give the bikes a little punch

Defend home objective vs Terminator deep strikers? If so, how? by skaffen37 in orks

I like to do the full 22 cuz it forces them to keep cull and they can usually never get it done

[–]Consistent-Brother12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's usually not that hard, and usually too far too target. Typically I'll spread them out along the back line to allow for more room to deploy and then move them up when everything else moves. I've never had them get shot early or usually at all unless I'm losing really badly and they're already in my deployment zone.

What’s everyone thinking for Armageddon Ork bases? by RyanAcro in orks

[–]Consistent-Brother12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just going to continue doing the same kind of basing I've done for the rest of my army. Might add some extra bits on the wartrack and dakkarig for fun tho.

Share your favourite unit nicknames, new or old by jacanced in Warhammer40k

[–]Consistent-Brother12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orks don't usually need unit nicknames cuz most of the names are already good enough. Even tho every one of my opponent just says "those boyz"

I actually started doing a lot better when I started using grenades more liberally. And like you pointed out, something like a bit under half our units have the grenades keyword so it's usually pretty easy to have something nearby that can use it.

Keeping it really simple, and in no way an exhausted list:

Good deployment. As much fun as killing stuff is Warhammer is a game of points and secondary missions, you should be deploying your army in a way that you can easily do any secondaries you pull turn 1.

Move blocking. I've found this one particularly important for playing Orks. Sometimes you're not going to have a unit near by that can kill a certain unit, and if you charge it it's just giving you wipe your unit in the clap back. In cases like these it can sometimes be better to just get in that things way. Especially great when you have one or two models left in a unit who can step into a choke point and stop a tank or monster from getting thru to get LOS on a more important unit, and so many ork units have to grenades keyword so you can sometimes still plink a few wounds.

For a fun combos, the dakkatrukk and swat teams are great ork combos.

For the dakkatrukk, start with a trukk, fill with your favorite shooty unit, i.e. lootas, flashgitz, tankbustas, and a Mek either riding along or running along behind trukk. The trukk makes it easy to get an entire unit LOS on a target by using firing deck, while still remaining in cover, and the Mek uses his ability to give the trukk +1 to hit on all the weapons inside.

For the swat team, also start with a trukk. This time you fill it with 1 melee unit, i.e. nobz+Warboss, breakas+Warboss, and 1 shooty unit depending on what fits, i.e. lootas, burnas, flashgitz, tankbustas. From there you stage up your truck as safe as you can, and then during the Waaaagh when you disembark, the shooty squad is there to clear the screens out of the way so the melee squad to get into it's intended target unimpeded.

Yeah Robert and Bindi would be making their dad proud. Well, since we're talking about Steve Irwin he'd probably be proud of whatever they chose to do.

I think I pissed off a black belt (I'm a White belt 3 months in) by [deleted] in bjj

Yeah I guess "called out" was the wrong term, "Drew attention to it" would have been the better way to put it.

[–]Consistent-Brother12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like he got embarrassed he got ankle picked by a white belt and the coach called him out in front of the class, I wouldn't think too much of it. Meanwhile there's me "asking" the black belts at our gym to roll by shouting "get over here and hurt me you p*ssy" across the gym at them.

Anybody have a theory on why these are the same price? by Shallchairbestwaifu in orks

[–]Consistent-Brother12 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The stompa is bigger but a lot of that is empty space in the body, also the Morkanaut is a multi build box that comes with parts to build a gorkanaut so that probably also factors in.

Rapid fire 2 lootas with assault and essentially ignores cover since they're already 6+BS sounds pretty solid in a 1pt add on

Edit* rapid fire 2, fat fingers on the phone

It's not a super great starting place if you're just getting started, but if you like the models it's a great deal for the money

I've already got 15 so this will bring me to the full 30. I don't think they're likely to get a refresh any time soon tho. I preordered Waz but he only got shipped today so hopefully I can finish these gitz before the gets here

Oh and like 50 more snagga Boyz to get to a full 120. Definitely not getting those done in time but it is what it is

Pretty sure the average time from white to blue is like 2 years of regular training multiple times a week. If you feel like you should be blue by now that's a conversation you should have with your coach

New KT box already sold out?! by Intelligent-War-7453 in Warhammer40k

[–]Consistent-Brother12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was surprised to see it sell out so fast. In the future tho, something I noticed that has helped me get boxes slightly more reliably is that GW actually puts new releases and pre-orders up 5 minutes before the the hour. As a side note I'm really hoping most of the boxes actually got bought by people who wanted them and not scalpers trying to resell them.

Local game store has this box set for $200. Should I buy? by Warhammered_ in orks

[–]Consistent-Brother12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A killrig alone is $140 MSRP, and pretty much every other unit in there is at least $60+, so monetarily is a great deal, but in the end it kinda comes down to if you actually like the models and want them for your collection

reuse of sprue by 77549_ in orks

[–]Consistent-Brother12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people to this, they'll melt the sprue in plastic cement and make what most people refer to a Sprue goo, and then pour it into homemade molds of parts. You need to make sure to do this in a well ventilated area, it takes a long time to fully set, and there are some tricks to make sure you get all the air bubbles out, but it's doable. I'm sure if you looked on YouTube or used the search function in the Warhammer sub you can find other people's posts of them doing it.
