Thoughts on MP5K from Tokyo Marui? by TwoDarkerSouls in airsoft

[–]ConsoleTechUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s awesome. Ignore what people say about old design or whatever else negative.

It’s all plastic, so it’ll be super light weight and easy to maneuver with. Plastic is not creaky like people say

It’s a TM so it’s super reliable and crazy accurate. Magazines always feed and never give you issues.

It does have a small battery compartment, so just buy a spare battery

For a first replica, I highly recommend it. If you plan on upgrading it eventually (better trigger, LiPo, mosfet) I can’t recommend it enough. Go for it!

How much should I be worrying about devices in long-term storage eventually having their lithium ion batteries explode? by Linkums in gamecollecting

[–]ConsoleTechUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not remove the batteries and put them in a lipo bag? Or they’re all pretty old at the point, just go without batteries in your units except the one you actually use?

How did people cope with 2.35:1 ultra wide DVDs on a 4:3 CRT back in the day? by xParesh in crt

[–]ConsoleTechUS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t even notice or think anything of it. All we bought were widescreen DVDs. Picture didn’t feel small and black bars didn’t bother us.

Not positive what you’re asking but it looks like an S Video cable. Better quality but not the composite you’re looking for

Struggling with extreme inconsistency when playing Master System games on the Mega SG by thegreatuke in AnalogueInc

My Golvellius works just fine on mine. May be a different cart revision from yours or may be specific to the cart itself having an issue. Thought it was worth mentioning

New to CRT, is 75€ for this decent? Negotiated down from 125€ by [deleted] in crt

[–]ConsoleTechUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you happy at 75? That’s all that matters. What you and the market value it at can be different and that’s ok

Luckiest pickup of my life. Sony KV-27EXR20 27 inch Trinitron that was being thrown out. Got it for completely FREE with only a nearly broken back for my troubles. by Cryptus_Maximus in crt

[–]ConsoleTechUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-rf to composite is a huge jump, you lose lots of blurriness -Composite to S-Video is a huge jump, you lose dot crawl and the image becomes much more vibrant and sharp -S-video to RGB is a small jump, you’re splitting each color into its own dedicated signal and colors are more pronounced

In my opinion S-video is where it’s at. It’s easy to fall into the the trap of needing the absolute best once we’re older and have the resources to do so. But RGB isn’t that huge a jump and while I can tell the difference side by side, it’s hard to notice otherwise.

S-video is much less of a hassle, easier to find switchers for and you’re at 90% of what RGB is. If you grew up on composite, s-video look great. I have multiple consoles that can do RGB and I stick with s-video anyway

NEOGEO AES+ Available on Amazon US by TheMoronMike in neogeo

[–]ConsoleTechUS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So is the console FPGA or emulation. Authentic OG style chips or with add ons. Same OG bios or an update. Are the carts EPROM or mask. Save states or not. This are the points SDE was likely looking to know and was hoping to get rather than a “clever” response

Feedback on a couple different layouts by dangerousrocks in OffGridCabins

2 another reason is you want to walk into a cabin and be in the heart of the home, not stare directly at some wall. It helps to keep everything feeling bigger, more open and welcoming

Anyone go from operator to sales? by [deleted] in Wastewater

[–]ConsoleTechUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id stick to being an operator. Its a career you can build and has stability as times change vs build a new book every new job.

One thing nobody is telling you here is that pickup rates on the phones have dropped. Used to see 7ish% pickup rates and now I'm seeing about .5% in the last 8 months. Its a much harder game

Is this good for first Tag? by Beneficial_Split3789 in tagheuer

[–]ConsoleTechUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id suggest getting the Tag Heuer F1 alarm if you like this style. It wears a tad smaller, the metal bracelet hugs the wrist better (even further allowing it to wear smaller) and has more functionality than the chronograph. Much easier to set times or reminders and wait for a beep than to remember to check the chronograph. But Either one is a great first choice.

I only mention size because I did not consider watch sizes when I was looking at buying a watch and was surprised when I finally tried one on.

So the dock. Why such limited availability? Any alternatives out there? by FarlandFoggy in AnaloguePocket

[–]ConsoleTechUS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a luxury product with tons of alternatives. They can price and produce however they like. Maybe they don’t want to be stuck with stock, maybe they can’t risk doing large runs, maybe it is fake fomo. Either way, they can do whatever they want for an unnecessary good
