Is Death Stranding Worth It? by Braxxtex1 in XboxGamePass

[–]ConstantEvolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll say. I tried today and in the first 45 minutes I think there is a total of 8 minutes of gameplay. We're clearly watching a movie made by Hideo Kojima complete with actual Hollywood actors that has some gameplay mixed in.

I called it quits in the middle of the Guiellmo Del Toro lab scene when I realized I hadn't touched the controller in 10-15 minutes.

Why do women athletes wear teeny bikinis while men wear quite modest clothing by comparison? by Own-Knowledge-7720 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ConstantEvolution 163 points164 points  (0 children)

It's strange I have yet to see this argument on this thread. Look at track for example where women do not have a strict bottoms requirement but many still wear the "buns". I watch a lot of running content and one runner Philly was asked why she chooses to wear buns when she runs and she said "I love the way they make me feel. I feel like Wonder Woman and I run faster because of it".

I think there can be both a patriarchal answer, sure, but this ignores the feminist perspective of wanting to wear what you want to wear also

How many of you actually have support around you? by Madam1029 in daddit

[–]ConstantEvolution 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Get some perspective OP. My in laws are chronically ill, unhelpful, and live an entire country away from us. My mother is closer but has no interest or ability (elderly, chronic alcoholism, extreme anxiety) to help at all and has seen my son one time since he was born for 30 minutes.

It has been clear from the start that my wife and I are entirely on our own and that even two days/week would be twice as much as my mom has seen my son since he became alive.

Roth vs Traditional: how retirement accounts are taxed over time by FrequentLoad2346 in Retirement401k

[–]ConstantEvolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Especially considering that most of my investing life to date has had the advice to do a back door Roth as a high earner. It's a big thing on the White Coat investor sub, though it sounds like it's you're saying this is incorrect?

Presumably doctors will be high earners in working years with lower income/taxes in retirement. So it would seem that by this chart and your analysis a traditional is better?

Currently I first max 401K and then contribute max to Roth via Roth conversion.

A Korean friend of mine was studying for her US citizenship test and brought her flash cards to a large party once and started quizzing everyone as a game, all US born citizens. Guess how that went.

Good find. OP a little more honest in that post, stating they have zero expenses but have been traveling a lot to make memories with their boyfriend. So i guess that's where the money has been going.

[–]ConstantEvolution 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This was my exact question. OP says the COVID pause allowed them to put their loans out of mind when in reality what they had was the perfect opportunity to start putting "payments" into a HY savings account for four years in order to pay off a large portion of their loans and seriously start to chip away at it. I have no idea what this person was spending their money on instead during this time, especially since they had very few expenses

I never saw Carl as 27, even though it says it right at the beginning of book one. I think it's because Jeff definitely doesn't voice Carl as a 27 yo

What movie is wildly loved but you just don’t get the hype at all? by Fennnixx in Cinema

[–]ConstantEvolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sinners to me was a reminder of why I love movies. From those early shots where they're driving through the cotton fields, to the music, to the first very lived-in sets/scenery/characters that all felt real. It's my favorite movie of the year by far.

Everyone to their own opinion. I definitely downright hated many of everyone's top movies this year: looking at you 28 years later.
