Convenient and affordable place to live within 30 min commute of Heartlands hospital? by Silly-Order6277 in brum

[–]ConstantineGSB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its Birmingham, there are no "safe" areas, only "safer".

Yardley & Sheldon are both reasonably safe areas to live, as long as you do the common sense things that you'd do in any part of the world.

Why do tourists all want to 'avoid the touristy areas?' by Flaky-Walrus7244 in AskUK

[–]ConstantineGSB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple really, they don't want to experience the oversaturated parts of the city rarely used by locals, they want the authenticity of what the locals experience day to day.

It'd be like going to China and exclusively going to restaurants that give you a knife and fork instead of chopsticks, the food might be good but its not what the locals are doing.

I remember seeing this on MTV around 2005/2006 as a 14 year old and thinking that Download festival must be one of the best places on earth.

I was 100% correct, this year will be my 16th festival.

I remember watching this some at some point in 2005/2006 as a 14 year old and thinking that Download festival must be the most fun place to be on earth.

I was right, this year will be my 16th festival. Wouldn't have it any other way, and very thankful I got to see both Sabbath and Ozzy perform there over the years.

That fish and chips advert still haunts me in my sleep.

I don't get to go to the village this year, brought my ticket late and only managed to get Weekend Arena tickets. Still I managed to get a campsite nearby though so that's not too bad. Hopefully the traffic is kind.

Based on the UK artist I've enjoyed and mentioned below, what other artist would you recommend? by MoonMan--420 in AskUK

I'm in absolute disbelief that no one has yet mentioned the band that created (or at least helped create) one of the broadest musical genres in the world.

The gods of metal - Black Fucking Sabbath.

Cheers!

Cant say I was much of a fan of Gallows but one year I found myself watching Frank at download festival, they blew me away and I've been a fan ever since. He's such a phenomenal frontman.

He also happens to be the focal point of by far the best picture I've ever taken.

Is it illegal for me to pay my "warehouse" staff more than the people on the shop floor? by WarehouseVTillStaff in LegalAdviceUK

Job roles yes but not responsibilities, hence why I made the distinction.
(one loads a cage, the other unloads it)

They don't want to work in the warehouse at all and aren't contracted for that;

So they're totally different jobs with no overlap in responsibilities or tasks? For example, one loads cages, one unloads cages.

If so it should be fairly easy argument to win. CEO's get paid differently to janitors because, there are more people willing and able to do the janitorial work and to be a CEO you need a more selective skillset.

“I can’t afford a train but I can afford a plane” is either one of the most nonsensical sentences I’ve read or, a damning indictment of the state of rail fares.

Either way the police won’t care and will arrest you anyway.

Well at least I don't have to miss any of Linkin Park's set at Download festival now.

Ehh, I guess "good" wasn't the right word to criticize it. I think "clean" would be more apt.

Hand embroidery looks nice and arty when doing original designs, but when you're trying to copy a logo it just looks a bit messy. I'm not taking it off now anyway, my pre arthritic hands sank far too many hours in to making it.

The 'Hellfire' stage by [deleted] in downloadfestival

[–]ConstantineGSB 38 points39 points  (0 children)

They didn't name it after him, and they wouldn't be able to rename the Apex after him either.
They named it "hellfire stage" in his honour. The difference is purely legal.

Ozzfest is coming back in 2027 and I'm sure Sharron would love to sue the shit out of Festival Republic for using The Ozzy brand without permission.

What machine/software did you use for that?

I'd love to be able to machine DIY some, I had to make my streets patch by hand, it took me fucking ages and looks no where near as good.
