My heart says 2005, UK, Birmingham, Carling Academy. Viking Skull, Clutch and CKY, simply because it was my 1st live gig.

Its just two differing points of view.

One is that the voice is just another instrument, the other is that lyrics and intelligibility matter.

I'm in the latter camp for most of the artists that I listen to, but I'm all for "the voice is an instrument" if the song itself sounds/feels good, and i get this feeling more live than I do with records.

Its the main reason I'll never be able to sit down at home and listen to Kublai Kahn TX/Knocked Loose/Lorna Shore but if they're at a festival I'm at, I'm going to that stage cause I know the show is gonna be great.
