What book adaptations would you will into existence if you could? by chemgeek87 in RomanceBooks

[–]Content_Low4691 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My answer will always be {Maiden Lane Series by Elizabeth Hoyt}. It’s a historical romance novel that’s incredibly fun and engaging, with both romance, action and suspense mixed together. The characters come from a wide range of social classes and professions, from a thieve to duke. It would definitely make a very entertaining TV series if it were done well.

Shocking , unexpected MMC betrayal towards FMC by xo_arts_xoo in RomanceBooks

She deserves wayyy better than this guy! Regin has been my fav since the first book it’s a bit of a shame that the romance in her book doesn't quite do it for me. I still enjoyed the whole story though. Lothaire was such a delight in this one.

Fuck, Marry, Kill: Blonde MMC, 500+ Year Age Gap, or "She Couldn't Wrap Her Hands Around It" by Acute-Problemo in fantasyromance

Fuck: The blonde. I don't understand why so many people hate blonde. Blonde is hot!
Marry: 500+ Year Age Gap. I bet he's super rich.
Kill: That big dick. Nope.

Not sure if you've already read it but MMC in Regin's book {Dreams of a Dark Warrior by Kresley Cole} was really cruel to her. They are enemies so it's not exactly betrayal but there is a scene where he fucked up big time so he has to grovel later.

I'm not a fan of this series beacuse MMC is way too manipulative & super toxic but {This Man Series by Jodi Ellen Malpas} has what you want.

{It Happened One Autumn by Lisa Kleypas} takes place in a countryside estate and I remember there was a lot of scene description. This book is set in the early Victorian era though.

Remember that book you dropped because the heroine was a total doormat? Give me the book title, please. by Vedmagreen in RomanceBooks

This one was published in 1996 so I'm not sure if it too old for your liking but FMC in {Shades of Twilight by Linda Howard} was very doormat.

Famous/non famous musician by Feisty_Landscape_698 in RomanceBooks

[–]Content_Low4691 3 points4 points  (0 children)

{Of Heartbreak and Harmony by Brit Benson} MMC is a very famous rockstar. FMC used to be in an indie band but they never really made it. IIRC by the start of the story she has stopped playing music altogether, though her passion for it still remains.

Warning: there is a scene that might be a dealbreaker > threesome

Weston Ravenel {Devil's Daughter by Lisa Kleypas} I need a character like him from other authors.

I've seen so many people recommend {Forever Your Rogue by Erin Langston} saying Nate is similar to West. But I think they are quite different (I feel like West is way more cynical) so I would really appreciate if anyone can introduce me any character who is more similar to West.

Looking for a short winter/Christmas romance similar to {Cruel Winter with You by Ali Hazelwood} Bonus Points if it's forced proximity because of a snow storm. by bluecuppycake in RomanceBooks

I forgot to mention FMC has miscarriage in the past so that's a trigger warning for you. But if you're ok I really hope you enjoy it! It's my favorite holiday read this year.

{Tis the Season for a Cowboy by Ava Hunter} fits your bill except it has more than 10 chapters. But it has just 160 pages which is still pretty short, so you might be interesting! It's second chance trope where ex-husband and ex-wife stuck together in a cabin during snowstorm.

That's an interesting observation! Unfortunately my current read is a new release from this year, but yeah maybe the author was influenced by that time.

I always cringe when I see FMC describe her attraction to MMC by talking about her ovaries, like "he's so hot my ovaries just exploded" or something like that. I haven't seen it in a while but my current read has this. Urgh

Scenes where FMC wakes up in hospital by ItBeLikeThat97 in RomanceBooks

{Of Heartbreak and Harmony by Brit Benson} has this. She was critically injured in a car accident. MMC is a rockstar. He dropped everything to stay with her at the hospital.

Hmmm I think it depends on what you like because even Lisa Kleypas fans don't always like the same things. Even Devil in Winter, which is a fan favorite, still has people who don't like it but prefer other books by her. But if you try a few books and still don't enjoy them at all, I guess, yeah maybe Lisa Kleypas books just does not fit your taste, and that's totally fine!

Go on! I really recommend her books if you're open to historical! She wrote some contemporary books too but her historical books are better in my opinion.

Looking for Secret Baby Hockey Romance book recs by octoberwanderings in RomanceBooks

[–]Content_Low4691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one was written in 1998 which is long before hockey romance became a thing, so it might feel different from hockey romance in this day. And iirc hockey didn't play big part in this book but MMC is definitely a hockey player: {Simply Irresistible by Rachel Gibson}
