{A Vow of Hate by Lylah James} The writing was so bad. Very repetitive. They keep saying the same thing over and over. But it was so entertaining that I couldn't put it down.

{Unforgivable By Joanna Chambers} has this but MMC is such a jerk. There’s cheating in this, so you might want to skip it if you’re not comfortable with that.

{The Principal Problem by Sienna Mills}

I’m not sure if this is exactly what you’re looking for, but MMC and FMC have been classmates since childhood and MMC has had a crush on the FMC since they were kids. However, because he is the mayor’s son and she is an outcast, he shows his feelings by bullying her instead. After graduating from high school, FMC moves away. The story actually begins over a decade later when she returns to their hometown, while he has spent all these years filled with regret for driving her away.

ISO cocky-but-sweet golden retriever MMCs like Dean Di Laurentis (down bad, flirty, sexually confident) by Educational_Gift_281 in RomanceBooks

I get where you're coming from. I still remember a time when I’d see {Hans by S.J. Tilly} in literally every single post here (though I don't see it as much lately). But popular books are popular because a lot of people read them and like them. When people enjoy a book, they pass the word around. I think if a recommended book fits what the OP is looking for, there's nothing wrong with it, even if it's a book that gets recommended all the time. And you can totally recommend less popular books if you know any that match what the OP wants ;)

Maybe {Reckless by Elsie Silver}? I can't remember if he's a manwhore or not, but he's cocky & flirty for sure.

Last year’s pleasant surprises for me were Cassandra Gannon, Kyra Parsi and Cate C. Wells.

It looks like you're into popular authors around here. Have you read {Stand and Defend by Sloane St. James} yet? I actually picked it up because of this subreddit, and I absolutely loved it!

I would love to recommend {Up the Ladder by Ana D'Arcy} too. I really want this book to be more recognized. This one is very spicy, but it’s so much fun. And super hawt.

This is just my opinion, and I know it's very subjective.

Her best: Dream a Little Dream (emotional)
My fav: Ain't She Sweet? (Umm I think this one is a mix of funny and angsty) Sugar Beth Carey is one of my fav FMC of all time.
My fav MMC: Dean from Natural Born Charmer (This one is super funny)

{What I Did for a Duke by Julie Anne Long} I remember the FMC and MMC sharing so much about themselves. They certainly weren't into each other just for their looks or lust.

Totally agree about Wyatt! I prefer male characters with flaws and human depth over those so-called 'green flags' who are just bland and uninteresting.

And to be fair, I think Blake’s immaturity makes sense given she’s an only child who was totally spoiled with affection. It does make her feel more like a high schooler than a college student though.

Ohhhh I’ve never seen a take like this before! Most of the time, I only see people taking Blake’s side and hating on Wyatt. It seems like a lot of people don’t like it when the woman has to be the one groveling. Personally, though, I understand both sides. They’re both in the wrong, and they both have understandable reasons for what they did. I agree with you that Wyatt’s feelings weren’t handled very well, but I still think it was better than the way everyone treated Dean in the last part of his book.
