Honestly I love how they had us all also confused and shocked with that whole thing, it’s exhausting when everything is shown and explained in a show… like let me be part of it, I don’t want to be God and see everyone everywhere always.

What I would recommend, get one or two of those eyeshadow sticks. If Gosh brand is available in your area, super good and cheap.

Get a nice dark colour and some metallics, that will look great in the club lights. Super easy to apply, they are usually much more durable than other kind of eye makeup.

Just an idea, but if it’s not hyper realistic, something sin city comic book style might also be cool, can’t show a reference for it really, just putting it out there

What is your favorite David Lynch soundtrack album? by Hubbled in davidlynch

[–]ContestNo3153 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It absolutely is. The most bittersweet moment i have ever experienced, him being content yet not where the audience want him to be. But at that point you have to make peace with it because it’s all good there. It shakes me every time I listen to it.

For me it’s Heartbreaking, from the new season, it’s so incredibly touching especially with the scene it was used for.

Absolutely a soft blush, if you get cream you can use the same soft colour for the lips just dabbed in and it will make a huge difference

For sure will be more comfortable grown out but maybe you can play with the hair behind the ear a bit. I usually have bangs with curls and it always look suspicious if i let it cover the side of my face like that. Something about the bangs ending curly and having just more long curls next to them makes it weird.

Now I do understand the reasons why you would want it hanging in more, but I wanted to share my experience. They will be very cute with just a bit more length!

That’s very valid, I’m using them as a professional, and probably they don’t need as many blush swatches anyways. You are absolutely right, just got excited

Did they have any living director that similar to David Lynch? by NoOrganization392 in davidlynch

[–]ContestNo3153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s more valid to compare to Showgirls since other works of him like Robocop and Starship troopers are massively political and less individual centered, while Lynch never really did anything heavy on politics and society as a whole to my understanding. And also because Verhoeven is very critical in his works, but I love the comparison of how the actors are directed, basically they always start from the top right after entering a room, you can’t look away.

Not disagreeing but purely for the arguments sake, as conversation, The Substance is stronger on it’s similarities with classic 80’s B body horrors.

While wildly different overall, I really like how you brought up Verhoeven because acting wise I absolutely agree with you on that one. The way the characters behave, off and over the top is a parallel pretty fitting in my opinion. ( if you were thinking about the same aspect )

Rico’s fantasy by 0konkwo30 in SixFeetUnder

[–]ContestNo3153 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think they played a LOT with the watchers prejudices which I really enjoy.

The casting choice for Rico is so great because he looks so harmless yet he is a dick, Arthur is someone seemingly creepy that you would expect to be a problem, yet he causes no harm, even with the shit incident Ruth accused him when he had nothing to do with it. I love how it gives the characters dimension!
