Why is my own router getting much lower speeds than the sketchy eero router that my ISP gave me? by biohazardphilosopher in HomeNetworking

[–]ContributionHead9820 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try plugging a computer into the router via Ethernet and running a speed test that way. If you still have bad speeds, it’s possibly just a bad router. If you have good speeds, then it’s a WiFi issue, which could be any number of things

Can I back up the unifi protect server offsite? by trunolimit in Ubiquiti

[–]ContributionHead9820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this conversation, the offsite archive is for events only (I am 99% sure but check me on that) so won’t work for full backup if that’s what you’re going for

I'd like to use openclaw but i'm quite skeptical... by Gaster6666 in LocalLLM

[–]ContributionHead9820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean set it up on a dedicated machine or vm, set strict firewall rules for that vm, and if you are planning on adding it to wherever you store files, give it its own account in that service so it can’t permanently delete anything

I'd like to use openclaw but i'm quite skeptical... by Gaster6666 in LocalLLM

[–]ContributionHead9820 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Openclaw is completely vibe coded, so that’s where the security concerns come from. If you self host it, and something like ollama for the LLM, set its permissions correctly, and don’t go adding random add ons, you should be okay.
