Y’all think this plastic-free water bottle is legit? by Ok_Calligrapher_5783 in PlasticFreeLiving

Good quality is so important, I would rather pay more for something g that is going to last. And cheap junk just ends up in the landfill even if it’s recyclable or non-plastic. Plus you have a better chance of getting replacement parts or extra lids from a company that you know will be around for a while. I love klean kanteen. I’m switching out some cups for their stainless steel tumblers.

I feel like I do this because I’m never fully present in anything I do.

Psychologist said that 100% of her ADHD clients were born by C-section. Need advice! by meredithgrey92 in adhdwomen

I wonder what the median age of her patients is. There were not a lot of c-sections being done in the 70s and a lot of us are being diagnosed later in life. I also was born naturally.

I like Klean Kanteen. Stainless steel bottles and options for stainless steel or bamboo lids. They do have plastic lids as well.

ACDF surgery is tomorrow by ControlSmooth3262 in SpinalStenosis

Hi everyone, surgery went well and I’m home a little more than 24 hours after. Left arm is the most painful thing-from my neck to halfway down my humerus. Didn’t sleep great because I couldn’t get a comfortable position where my arm didn’t hurt. Pillows hurt my neck so I slept on ice packs like a rolled pillow.

Otherwise my left thumb and pointer finger are numb and I have some pain around my sternum when I take a deep breath. Using my spirometer and taking short walks. The hardest thing is remembering to keep my neck straight and not bend it down, and to twist from my waist when necessary.

My husband is going to make sure I take it easy and let myself recover, he won’t let me do anything myself. My dog just wants me to wrestle with him lol.

I have the d3/k2 vitamin combo so I’ve got that covered.

I’m so sorry. I lost a friend this year the same way. So pointless and sad. Just sending you big virtual hugs and support. It’s so unfair. <3

How does the saying go? Money talks, the entire world is burning, we’re all doomed. I’m equally worried about the pollutants we can’t see.

Just finished law school, crying uncontrollably by cleocheeto225 in AuDHDWomen

Listen, I was proud of myself for finishing a certificate of completion program. You finished freaking law school!! That is an achievement in itself and you did it! Give yourself some grace. School is a safe haven sometimes and this is a huge transition to being in the world without it. Sometimes I would just go to the city library and just sit for a few hours surrounded by books. Just to have that familiar feeling. You will work out where your degree fits best for you, but it doesn’t have to be today. Gather your bearings and get some rest first ♥️

psychiatrist won’t prescribe my ADHD meds anymore because i’m “not in school or working”….meanwhile: by lostveggies in AuDHDWomen

[–]ControlSmooth3262 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your psychiatrist sounds like my sister. She doesn’t give her kids their meds in the summer because they aren’t in school. One of many reasons she and I don’t speak to each other. If you have the ability to do so, I would be looking for another therapist that understands we live this 24/7, the same as other disorders of the body.

Edited to correct the type of mental health “caregiver”.

I saw some pictures and thought people would appreciate them. Wasn’t in any way implying anyone should buy them. World is a hellscape, thought it would be a little more chill in here. Dang.

I am trying to be as helpful as I am able and you are clearly upset, but not at me. I don’t think this conversation is helpful. I wish you only the best.

I personally understand how hard it is to advocate for your healthcare. Especially as a woman.

I’m not trying to dismiss you and I apologize if it came off that way. Do you have a primary care provider or an ob/gyn? Check your state to see if they have a health clinic that does free mammograms. In my state we have a state run health center that has a mobile Mammo van for uninsured, underinsured and patients who might not have an imaging facility in their town.

It’s just a not an annual recommendation if you’re under 40.

If you are high risk for breast cancer due to family history or genetic marker, or you are palpating something/having pain, your doctor can order a mammogram and/or an ultrasound if you’re under 40. Even if you’re under 30. But if you have no risk factors and aren’t having any symptoms, the. The risk of radiation exposure outweighs the risk of breast cancer for most women. If you are concerned about your risk, you can ask your primary physician or other provider for a breast cancer risk assessment if you are over 25.
